Lit Diversity in SW Lit - Coop's Temporary Whining Thread

Well, I am a bisexual (and thus part of the LGQBT roster) and I managed to survive without this 'diversity'
The reason why I don't like seeing this stuff is because far often then not, whenever they do portray LGBT people in media, they are hypersexual and promiscuious. And as a Christian, none of this stuff is even edifying to me, because why would I care for this sort of thing, or even want to read about it as the characters are often put into graphic sexual situations?
I'll also tell you this point blank: A lot of this sexual 'diversity' stuff is straights shame over how they treated other minorities in the past. They aren't doing this because they love minorities. They are doing it because they want to 'prove' that they aren't how they used to be, and use 'political correctness' and 'hate crime' laws. You can see this in the way they will gush over gays/bisexuals relationships, but show them a statistic on who gets a lot of the new AIDs cases popping up, they will call any straight a bigot for showing that half of the new AIDs cases are in gay/bisexual men.

That's not love, that's guilt. And guilt involves burying your head in the sand and pretending the dark side of sexual 'diversity' doesn't exist.

Two points - one, ignoring any minority rather than risk portraying them poorly sounds like burying one's head in the sand as well. Two, your example of bisexuals being portrayed as hypersexual Is absolutely true, and is part of the problem. The solution is better writing, not fewer bisexuals.

Scourge has a Diversity Score of 91. Although I've seen some people saying Zuma is hispanic, so it would be 100 if that is true. Not very surprising since it's based in Hutt space.

Also, I love that it bothers to say "feminine" and "masculine" Hutt rather than female or male. My expectations for this just went way up.

Honestly I never once viewed Sinde as white. Perhaps of mixed heritage but this actually shocks me that so many people looked at him and saw a white guy.

I'm just curious because if I look at the DP for say triple zero we have 16 human males, 11 of which look just like that guy(all of whom are prominate characters). We also have 2 white females, and 3 aliens(twilek, Wookiee and Hutt).

I remember him as a tan white guy myself - less clearly nonwhite than Antares Draco, and even he I was never sure on.

Loyal, I'll add 'em - but I'd say count the clones separately. Otherwise you could make the same argument for counting the Skysolos as one character.

S'only fair. No one's holding a gun to the authors' heads to make the clones main characters, so they should get credit when they do.
