We know that George Lucas hardly ever gets involved with the EU, but sometimes he does. And we know that he kind of sees the EU as a seperate universe to his films, but are there any EU works which Lucas either likes/loves or has been directly involved in? Here are some that I know of. Are there any more? He created Darth Bane and the Rule of Two. Served as a producer on The Force Unleashed. He liked Shadows of the Empire so much that he might have made a film from it. Labyrinth of Evil was based on information that he personally gave to James Luceno. He wrote the prologue to Shatterpoint. He gave approval to Dark Horse comics for Quinlan Vos' survival during Order 66. Because of Lucas, there can be no more Wookiee Jedi. Ever. He established that Darth Plageuis was a Muun. Approved the novel of Revenge of the Sith line-for-line.
He was said to have submitted some information to the creators of the TOTJ comics in the 90s, IIRC. I don't have a source for that, I just remember reading it somewhere around the time they came out. Also, he was the one who suggested that Plagueis should have an "accident" in the Luceno novel that forces him to wear a mask.
After all his pants rant about how the saga ends at the death of Vader its pretty hypocritical of him to claim he loves DE
He liked Shadows of the Empire so much that he might have made a film from it. I hate this so much. That booked blew and GL liked it. UGH! Lil curse word in there. Whatever. I think GL liked DE not only because it was good but because it does grab ideas from his original treatments concering 9 episodes.
Yes EU falls under C-canon, but T-canon is EU to, just a higher form. Look up the definition of the wookipedia if you want. The EU is ANY star wars material outside of the films. And if you look it up, TCW is apart of it.
It use to be. But with the creation of TCW and eventually the LAS, they came up for a separate branch all together for it. T-Canon which is above C-Canon(books, comics, games etc)....but still below G-Canon.(The Movies).
definition of EU, *from the wookipedia* The Expanded Universe (or EU for short) encompasses every one of the officially licensed, fictional background of the Star Wars universe, outside of the six Star Wars films produced by George Lucas. Yep, TCW is EU. If its not the films, then its EU.
As far as I've heard, he was the reason why Anakin Solo was killed and the role of the hero for the NJO series went to Jacen Solo. Reason: It would confuse the fans too much to have two characters with the same first name.... So his decision pretty much effected everything from "Star by Star" on.
No kidding, and look what happened, Jacen Solo pretty much became a carbon copy of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars.
He vetoed some of Zahn's ideas for TTT. The Noghri were originally going to be the Sith, and C'Baoth was going to be Kenobi.
While I originally approved of his hand in EU (such as TTT, he made it much more better), I don't like his current meddling, especially where TCW is concerned. He's putting to much emphasis (ex. the mortis trilogy) on something like TCW, which is in my opinion very childish (I liked it before, where it was actual Clone WARS,but now it seems like a pathetic kid's show, which I wouldn't mind if it wasn't actual canon).
