So, the season 7 finale aired tonight. (So please tag spoilers.) I've wanted Robin and Barney together basically since the first time they slept together near the end of season 3. I've been hanging on by a thread of hope that they'd end up together for months, since Barney seemed pretty intent on being with Quinn. But as the last scene showed, Robin is Barney's bride! I have to say, the birth of Marshall and Lily's son and Ted and Victoria driving away together wasn't nearly as exciting. We knew the baby was going to be born, and we know Ted isn't going to end up with Victoria. The reveal of the bride was the big deal. What does everyone else think? Where do you think the series will go from here?

OMG BARNEY AND ROBIN I'M SO HAPPY. Feel a bit sorry for Quinn, though. A lot of broken engagements on this show. I'm not sure I like Ted running off with Victoria again. I hope it's not as pointless as the Zoe arc.
Yeah, I liked Quinn better than that dude Robin was with...I've already forgotten the character's name.
It's probably going to be. The season finales of this show for the last few seasons (when did they show us the wedding for the first time? 2 seasons ago?) have made me feel like I wasted the last year watching it, and I should have just skipped all the intervening episodes.

I'm torn. I've always liked Victoria, but eh... it's kind of tired right now. Had they had a reconnection when they first brought her back, that would have been interesting. Right now it just seems... I don't know. We already know it's not her, and bringing her back as just a delaying tactic is irritating. I disliked when they took her away the last time, and now I dislike that they've kept her around. I'm ready to see the mother and have a season where Ted gets used to that, but at this point I expect we'll meet her and then it'll end. Meh. And the wedding thing... yeah. eh.
I really did not like Ted running off with Victoria like that. Especially since it happened to him with Stella. I wanted him to be like no, if you don't want to get married you go back there and you tell him. And then in a week or a month you find me. I'll be here waiting for you. But I can not be that man, who does that to another person. I've been there. But no he turns around and does it. There was a moment where you thought okay he's not, good. Of course I should of known it was going to happen. If it wasn't there was no point in bringing her back like they did earlier in the season. I've always known it was going to be Robin. And they've put the hints at it all season. Especially when she was thought she was pregnant and talking to Ted's kids. The back view looked exactly like the one from Barney's apartment. What would be great is if Ted and Quinn end up together.
I just think the Victoria thing is so pointless. Robin was just talking about how he neesd to stop chasing the wrong girls, and we know it's not her. Though I suppose he's got to do something to occupy him while Barney breaks up with Quinn and proposes to Robin.
As a warning, I have not seen any of this season, so feel free to throw things at me. Dangit, Robin and Barney were the worst couple ever, how could anyone have forgotten this?? And they both have serious issues with getting married and settling down. I am über disappointed and in real life it would never work out. [/fan rant]
Was anyone actually surprised by the ending reveal? I mean, in this season's very first episode Ted was called the bride's Best Man. Who else would the bride be but Robin? There's no reason Ted would be standing for Quinn. That being said, I fully support this pairing so I'm stoked. Ted's storyline is doing nothing for me though.
But that's the thing, they were the world's worst couple. Since they broke up, they've both changed, Robin had her pregnancy scare and Barney actually proposed to Quinn and that's just this season. Both characters are vastly different now then they were the last time they dated. I always kind of figured Robin was the bride, and knew for sure when I saw the look on her face when Barney told her he was getting married. I also wasn't a fan of the Victoria deal for all the reasons already mentioned.
I remember being really annoyed by the "bad for each other" thing, since it required them acting completely out of character in order to break up. I thought that was stupid and lazy of the writers and I'd rather they just forget it happened.
How can Robin end up with Barney when she'll be so busy with SHIELD? Will Director Fury spoil their honeymoon?
Yeah I thought that when he pointed out that he had been left at the altar and it had nearly killed him, that was the end of it. I can't believe that, no matter how much he wanted to be with Victoria or how much he was hurting over Robin or whatever, he would help cause such a traumatic experience for a guy he has never met and doesn't have any reason to believe isn't a decent person. The very least he could've done is tell Victoria to let down the poor dude face to face. Well, I can sorta believe it because Ted is such a selfish moron a lot, but it wasn't a great character moment for sure.
