I think Rex was wrestling with himself but with a block. Rex has never hesitated for a moment before and he was resolved to do it despite knowing the consequences. The strain seemed as much physical as it was mental. Really he seemed to exhaust himself wrestling with it. Rex said so himself. For Dogma the breaking point was the friendly fire incident and for Cut the breaking point was losing his very own version of Domino squad in a gunship crash and watching survivors get euthanized. What is it going to take to break Rex like that? Maybe it was right then and there when Dogma fired the shot. I think a good argument can be made for Fives having been broken from it already, although he does everything he does in "Plan of Dissent" out of loyalty to the Republic, he really seems every bit as independent and free thinking to me as Cut it, he just uses it differently. I think that comes down to temperament. Fives is an angry SOB and he wants to break stuff.

Haha, true about Fives. But for Rex, I don't think the "never hesitated before" aspect is really applicable here. He's usually shooting droids. The other sentient beings he killed include a slaver and some Umbaran soldiers... nothing morally questionable in a war. Killing a commanding officer who is also a Jedi still seems different. I'm not sure the others there could have done it either, besides Dogma of course. And of course, it would have been different if Krell had been killed during the firefight, but once they caught him and it was a question of execution that is a very different scenario.

I already know that all of the clones don't follow Order 66, because they have free will, thanks to Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader and Republic Commando: Order 66. TCW simply isn't doing anything meaningful for the universe, because everything the show is covering has already been done far better in the EU.

Not saying Rex didn't struggle with killing his commanding officer slash Jedi morally but he says "I have to do this." with convicting. In my mind, Rex had resolved to shoot Krell, he made his choice, and was unable to do it because he literally couldn't make himself do it.

Yes, but there's still a difference between having conviction / resolving to do something and being able to follow through with actually doing it. I know the outcome is the same, but I don't think any programming or anything physical was getting in the way; it was all naturally in his own head (the same as it could be for anyone else, clone or not).

A half-hour speech from George Lucas, apologizing for doing such poor work on the prequels, for his general lack of imagination during the prequels, for constantly attempting to alter the original trilogy, for constant retconning, and abasing himself for his horrible influence on the mythical 4th Indiana Jones movie. Afterward, he should give credit to all the writers who made the EU great, and tell them how sorry he is that his cartoon venture so badly derided and conflicted with their work. Then he should commit Sepuku or Haru-Kiri, with Jar Jar as his second for when he flinches.

The level of hate and disparagement I find here is - some of us like the prequels, TCW, etc. Doesn't mean we LOVE EVERYthing about 'em, but we can discuss them - yet it's impossible to discuss with folks who state their opinions as if they've been appointed the arbiter of good taste and acceptability.

And the implication that he should "off himself" is - words don't describe it.
