EUC Is there some way for non Force sensitive to raise their number of Midi-chlorians?

They really don't. Desann made Shadowtroopers by using a type of crystal to make soldiers artificial force sensitives

I think this gets handwaved by virtue of being a part of some kind of author-invented immortality ritual. In general, one does not permanently increase one's own midichlorian count by doing things like eating the heart of a Jedi or getting a blood transfusion. This is because blood cells are replaced and will be reproduced in the body with their original midichlorian count intact.

There are all kinds of Internet ads put up by hucksters trying to take advantage of your insecurity to sell you pills they claim will increase your midi count overnight. Don't believe them.

If this quote is from ROTS, then Yoda is referring to the twins inside Padme, not Padme herself. Whether he knew she was pregnant or not, is up for debate.

YODA: With you the Force is strong... young Senator. Seeing you alive brings warm feeling to my heart.

No it's not in RotS, it's in the first few chapters of AotC.

Get pregnant with the twins of the most powerful force user. Caveat: Death.

I believe Plagueis should have some way to change the midi-chlorian count, since he could control the midi-chlorians to leave a person's body to kill him.

I always thought of the midichlorians in the same vein as presented in The Fifth Element. I do not recall the numbers given but when they look at the DNA of The Supreme Being they say regular humans are something like a few hundred "mamo groups" and TSB's DNA is over 500,000 "mamo groups".

The midichlorians are so vastly complex that they reach down to the underlying energy pervading the universe and allow certain folks to use that energy. Along with that complexity comes the lack of technology for the current ability of beings in a GFFA to clone or replicate the midichlorians.

For some reason, "midi-chlorians" bring an image of Smurf-like creatures frolicking happily in a sunny meadow to my mind.

Does Savage have more midichlorians after his Talzin-sponsored, Ichor-party?
Or were they just made bigger, too?

I think Yoda : Dark Rendezvous implied that a mad scientist tried to artificially increase the Midichlorian count of non-Force sensitives and succeeded, but all the test subjects went rabid with their exposure to the Force and in no time that 'sickness' spread to the entire population.

Maybe Yoda meant that the Force was with Padme. But if she was Force Sensitive it wasn't enough to be a Jedi or a very good one. One that wasn't the best comes to mind *cough*Scout*cough*

And for the record Leia's Count was really high as well. Higher then Yoda's and Sidious's if I remember what I read. Don't ask me exactly where because all I know is that it was George Lucas that said it and it might have been in an Star Wars Insider.
  15. The Phantom Calamari Jedi Master

Well, Leia had the same potential as Luke, and Lucas has stated elsewhere that Luke had the potential to be at least as powerful as Anakin....who in turn had the potential to be more powerful than Yoda or Sidious. Q.E.D.
  16. Lady_Misty Jedi Master

I believe that was in the same piece that I read.

    He did change his own.

That's what I was going to post. Plagueis explicity mentions at the beginning of the 3rd section that he increased his midichlorian count.

If I remember correctly those crystals enhanced their powers and also helped power their suits. As for the people themselves, they were part of the Reborn, followers he empowered with the Valley of the Jedi. It was the Valley that allowed Kyle Katarn to regain his powers so quickly as well.

I don't know what that has to do with midi-chlorians. But apparently the Vally of the Jedi could empower a non-Force user permanently. By the time of Jedi Academy, some of Tavion's cultists were leftover Reborn. Presumably, if any survived they didn't lose their power when the scepter was destroyed.
