Friday the 13th of July sounds cool. Or, the 14th. Or the next friday the 20th, or sat the 21. We can meet at B and N, but if someone wants to open their house that would work too.

Nice! You never know though. For those going to Fright Night to see Zahn/Cline I scouted it and none of the big name (i.e. not self published) authors have tables? So the only way to catch them is at one of their panels or their scheduled book signings at the Jo-Beth book booth. Mr Zahn has been a wonderful guest, he's even been doing extra book signing at the Jo-Beth booth. Literary panels are very lightly attended and feel very intimate. There were about 10 people for Mr Zahn's spotlight panel so he just came around from behind the table and had everyone circle up around him. Saw Thomas and Cungr. Cungr has been having problems signing on which is why he's not been around here. Good crowds at the show but few costumes. At least 1 costume contest was a bust. They have three on the schedule-comic, horror and anime. I went to the comic one and there was an audience and a couple of costumers but after no one showed up to run it after 20 minutes I left. Gaming is a step child and speaking with the Jo-Beth people they're kind of dissatisfied with how the Literary track has been promoted (it hasn't). They said if they brought Zahn to their store they could have 100 people which is true.

the sad part is that fright night is just not run well. hopefully it will get better. once RiverCon died, this city has really struggled to get a decent con. The only good one is Wonderfest. I hear the Comic con 1 day thing it doing good.

True, you'll get to see Zahn at CVI as well as Ernest Cline (he said he'd be doing a Fanboys panel along with Kyle Newman). No real spoilers, spoke a bit about Scoundrels during his panel of course. Had some interesting things to say about scifi in general during his scifi panel with Scalzi on Sunday.
