He always plays the most likeable average blokes. Seriously, I think he was created in some sort of science lab as a plan to create the most quintessential British man. Now I want to see him play a total ***hole. Why was this never an episode of Extras? (language warning)
Seriously, him being cast in the Hobbit was like something out of a dream. It's like I was able to use my low-level telepathic abilities for years to make it happen!
This scene in particular shows just how much John Kransinksi took from him for the US Office. For the record, I like both versions of the show. The US version started out as a rehash, but it really found it's own style and was great seasons 2-4. Especially season 2.
You be thankful that Amy Pond and Gwen Cooper are fictional, because they'd so kill you for that comment...
Said with the utmost sarcasm, mar I do have a Scot in my icon after all. Or, er Gallifreyan. Which must be in Ireland. I agree with everything said in this post and would like to add that the US pilot is awful. Seeing the awesome John Krazinsky forced to try to show up Freeman, for instance, with the same script... no. Just no.
Uh this is a thread for Martin Freeman, not Doctor Who and its spinoffs. Martin Freeman should be in an episode of Doctor Who. Make it happen, Moffat.
