oh Harbinger I just want to pet you.
Ew space magic. I was a soldier. I used my gun 100% of the time.
no omni blade ?
Nope. Gimmicky. I used my particle beam pretty much 100% of the time. I so do love collecting antiquities. It looks just like a Prothean building!
(I do, however, use heavy melee in multiplayer--because it's a giant biotic explosion when my asari uses it)
the vanguard heavy melee works for me and the drell uses kung fu which is nice to use when cornered, while the omni blade may be gimmicky it's hell of a lot better than Shep's haymaker in ME2. laser swords usually makes things better
Infiltrator, every time. I'll probably try a Soldier at least once, and maybe an Adept, but we'll see.
On the ending: I wrote up some thoughts ME3 triggered about art more broadly on my personal blog: Mass Effect 3 and Art as Dialectic. The main thrust:
Meh, Shepard should carry an *actual* sword. I'm trying my first infiltrator (and my first renegade), and the tech abilities are kind of cool but their actual weapon usage is sucky, at least in ME1 and 2.
You just need to master the sniper. Once you have the hang of that, you can basically switch up which sniper you're using in 2 to fit the kinds of enemies best, and away you go. I blew threw all of ME2 almost never using anything else on my most recent playthrough. ME is a bit harder, just because of the silly "I'm the best human soldier but I don't know how to hold a gun steady at level 1" mechanic, but once you level up your sniper skill and get some better weapons, you can easily camp out and take down Geth Colossi with relative ease.
sniper rifle of choice ?
I'm using the sniper rifle and 1-hitting even shielded and armored enemies with headshots, but I have about 9 spare "heatsinks." It's kind of annoying. I can definitely kill things with greater dispatch than a soldier, but I run out of shots realllly quick. The laser-guided pistol helps in clutch situations, but then I just feel like a gimped soldier, esp. since the soldier isn't bad at sniping either.
MasterSkywalker, Widow all the way. As you get the ammo upgrades, you can get to about 12-14 shots, and that's usually enough for any single encounter, after which you fill up again. I usually just combined that with a Locust, and away you go. (The Locust performs nearly on par with all the assault rifles except the Revenant in ME2. Obviously a bit different in 3.) In ME3, Black Widow: 3 shots per clip, but with the same kind of effectiveness as the Widow, especially when fully upgraded and with damage modifiers added on. So beautiful.
Oh, I quite liked the black widow. It almost--almost--pulled me away from the prothean gun, but I am just too much of an antiquarian (I mean seriously, they fired on the ship I was in!).
The Locust is pretty nice, but I only use it to whittle down mech shields so that I can incinerate the suckers.
funny I always prefer a sniper rifle in the Halo series and Uncharted series, but for Mass Effect telekinetics is my drug. I'm going to have to give infiltrator and adept a shot. gotta say this game like the others has so much replay value
Yes they should definitley be switched unless it's some sort of cruel joke
It's the Widow(maker) or nuthin'!
When is the Vega movie coming out?
The date has not yet been announced.
I'm quite interested in the Mass Effect anime. Vega sounded like he had an interesting back story revolving around the Collectors. I think seeing it could be interesting. And it's Production I.G making it, and not in crappy blurry-o-vision like they did with their Halo Legends short. So it could be pretty entertaining.
