And I showed you why. At one point, Ventress was in that category too.

Dooku was only testing him...I wouldn't say Savage ever became an actual Sith. And he shouldn't be on that page if he's not a Sith now.

You mean Ventress was on that page?

I think Savage is kind of in a gray area. He was Dooku's secret Sith apprentice. So he was kind of a Sith, but at the same time it was a secret so what good is that?

Dooku: "Henceforth you are my Sith apprentice.... but that doesn't leave this room. So never actually call yourself a Sith, because if my master finds out it's gonna hit the fan and he's going to come down here and wipe his butt with both of us."

I can't imagine that a secret Sith apprentice really held a whole heck of a lot of power. Whereas Vader was leader of the Imperial military and Palpatine and Dooku were able to control entire governments. Savage is just some enforcer with no real power base. And he couldn't even openly declare himself to be a Sith. So regardless of whether or not you want to consider him a Sith, it's just an empty word at that point. He wouldn't have been able to hold any real power until Palpatine was killed.

But I think once he stopped being Dooku's apprentice, he ceased to be a Sith. I mean at that point he has no power and doesn't even have his apprentice-master's training or empty recognition of being a Sith

I'm ok with Maul getting allies and taking on an apprentice. I just don't think that Maul's apprentice should be a clone of Maul's TPM self right down to being relatively quiet and having a saberstaff.

Offtopic, Re: SW.com: they're cutting staff, too. Which I'm sure will lead to a radical improvement in overall site quality.

On-topic: the term Sith is so diluted these days it's almost a generic term for darksider. The Kleenex of Force sects, if you will.

I read about that. I guess they want SW.com to be mediocre and low in quality.

Their old forums were quite an experience. They actually wouldn't let me post the phrase "distinguish it" because it was assumed to be profanity. Seriously.

    Wow

Hyperspace, databank, the news updates, their forum, blogs, and I think their shop too are all gone. I just don't know...

Yeah, it was a pretty lame forum. I had about 400 posts there before I stopped there (in '07) and started at TFN instead. And I thought it was pretty funny that they didn't even archive the boards or anything... just deleted them completely.

Book of the Sith also called him a Sith Warrior

Referring to themselves as the true lords of the Sith does not make them the true lords of the Sith. It doesn't even make them Sith plus.

Well the book is wrong. I hate that term "Sith Warrior", because that is a class in TOR (i think). It would make sense to call Savage that if he was a character of the old republic era sith, who would have that class....but he isn't. I don't think that is even a status in the "Order of the Sith Lords" but i could be wrong.

I haven't read the book of the Sith, so i hope that they didn't make another error and refer to Ventress is a Sith (which would go against the microseries, TCW, comics, Starwars.com)

StarWars.com never was that great but compared to now it used to be an absolute masterpiece of a site.

    R.I.P. Hyperspace.

It's an actual cannon term that predates TOR, in fact it was in KOTOR II and the living force RPG

I think they once made the mistake on starwars.com to refer to Ventress as a Sith, but it was changed. I could be remembering wrong though.

I believe your right. But in general, it is a term used by the many sith groups of the old republic era (after and before TOR, not in the Rise of the Empire era though). So i don't believe that term belongs in the Rise of the Empire era which TCW is apart of.
