I dont remember Filoni saying that the Boba armour would never appear I thought he just said it would not appear in Season 5. BTW wait for S10 and I may be ok with it.
Not a huge fan of Bo-Katan and what they are doing to the female mando is like what TESB did with Boba - make her into an instant hit just cause she is a cool Mando. They are just pushing her, like the show is doing with Maul and Embo - they are not characters that are cool without trying, they are being made to be cool.
That's a matter of opinion. I find her to be cool, but I certainly am not going to base my thoughts on her based on one episode considering she might be in more than one arc in the future. As far as Embo is concerned, he is a bounty hunter and so far he works for those who promise him payment, which is exactly what he's supposed to do.
I'm certainly not going to judge Bo completely until I see her in action again. My expectations for this upcoming arc are higher than they were for Umbara.
Bo was his idea and he named her after his wife's kitty. Its in the stuff for "A Friend in Need' on the OS.
Second character to be named after one of his wife's cats. Mar Tuuk was the other. Can't say I'd do much better. We'd totally end up with an Abby, a Wally. an Ayres, and a Tiger.
“I really like that character of Bo-Katan,” said Dave, explaining the simple reason for her creation was to give female fans more opportunity for armored cosplay. “Let’s give the ladies some cool armor.” Seriously, this may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard attributed to Filoni.
See this clip, despite the fact that I want to hear nothing about Maul, looks really cool. Of course Obi-Wan will probably get adopted into Mandalorian culture making him a Mandalorian while Jango isn't...... And I guess we are suppost to root for Bo-Katan now? She was just murdering children last season...........
I don't necessarily see her as a hero all of a sudden, considering she helped burn people alive on Carlac. I see her as a kind of Ventress from "Revenge", you root for her at that specific moment, but you don't necessarily forget that she has committed horrific crimes in the past.
Seems to me like she's being presented to Mandalorian fans as a hero now, someone fighting the good fight for Mandalore. It seems like a very poor narrative choice to me. Same deal as Ventress. Maybe the show is going to take every female villian and try and paint them in a positive light.
I think what is going on is an "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" sorta thing with Bo and Obi-wan. They have temporarily teamed up against a common enemy and afterward its back to Deathwatch ownage. Bo is still so brutal Obi can't watch her at a point in the clip.
Maybe he should just learn more about Star Wars. There has been Females in Mandalorian armor for sometime now despite him saying that Bo-Katan is the first. So much for Jedi morality........again.
I agree. Bo seemed loyal to Vizsla up until he allies with Maul. Or at least I'm assuming that's the breaking point that divides the Death Watch. I think (hope) that her teaming up with Obi-Wan is a matter of convenience. She's a member of a pro-warrior faction within the Mandalorians, I just think she has disagreement with Vizsla about how to enforce that. I don't think she just all of a sudden abandoned her ideology in favor of being a peaceful, pro-Republic Mandalorian. As for Bo-Katan's creation. Don't really have a problem with it. If Filoni decided to change a male character into a female character to throw a bone to female cosplayers, so what? It's not like the entire episode was based around Bo-Katan. She was a secondary character that I think Filoni said was originally supposed to be a male. So the character was already there, he just changed the sex of the character.
I dunno, I'd like characters with more substance I guess. Not that they can't have the "cool factor" going for them, but so far Bo-Katan just seems like another unnecessary "girl power" character that's being shoehorned in.
