No you don't. You watch it out of obligation because you're a moderator of LACWAC. Giving up TCW would lead you to also give up your position because we all know feck all else goes on here.
Pft. In all seriousness, I still look forward to the show every week when it's on. I mean for all it's faults, I'd say it's had more good episodes than bad. I don't rate it in the same league with other hit shows like Lost, Game of Thrones, etc etc, because it's more like Saturday morning cartoon fare. It's not meant to be taken as seriously as some of you might be thinking it should be.
You guys probably think I take this show a lot more seriously than I actually do. And I've already said countless times why I still watch TCW.
Eh... that doesn't sound like fun. I wouldn't be watching a kid's tv show as a chore (unless someone were say, paying me to watch it or something).
If you were talking to me I was honestly joking about the masochism quip, I really just barely like this show at this point. It's to the point where if they mess up in a big way one more time then I'll be done with it. Otherwise, I actually enjoy the animation style and there are a handful of episodes I have genuinely liked, it's just that the writers need to step up their game.
For what it's worth, I'm with your wish for some actual optimism, Barriss. More because I'm just tired of the repetitive bashing than because I like the show. There's only so many times you can listen to Filoni and Ahsoka hate before it gets old.
That's the thing -- I think it's cool that people have their critiques about the episode (I know I certainly have my share), but it seems like some people only come here to bash the show. A few of you even told me you don't watch it anymore. I've no problem with people who want to hang out here for the community aspect, but it's annoying to hear those who don't watch it lambasting episodes based on second-hand information and commercials.
No, I still enjoy it despite its faults. And occasionally TCW throws out absolutely perfect episodes, like Darkness on Umbara or Carnage of Krell. I have faith that it can deliver because we have seen it do so already. And on the issue of continuity problems; I for one actually enjoy some of the retcons. Even Piell's death in the show was imo, better than in those horrible Coruscant Night books. Also your icon is brilliant Barriss! I think this is appropriate:
It explains why he wasn't on the Council in RotS, means that five members of the Council didn't survive Order 66 (that's too many) and removes those books (hopefully) from canon.
