Win: Gemologist Place: I'll Have Another Show: Union Rags As much as I enjoy the Derby, I wish they'd start getting away from these 20-horse fields. That much "traffic" just scares me, and I think it would be a better quality race if the horses had room and were able to run better.
I adore Gemologist and am sending a bet with a friend on him. I'll pick someone else on here though for my three tomorrow evening. The Kentucky Oaks is the first leg of the Filly's Triple Crown races. I really like On Fire Baby. Kentucky Oaks: Win: On Fire Baby Place: Jemima's Pearl Show: Summer Applause
Well two of my horses came in 5th and 6th. Doh! Ok get your Kentucky Derby picks in! Win: Hansen Place: Creative Cause Show: Gemologist
Sadly I haven't been able to follow a lot of the lead up here yet because I've been busy. I'll probably wind up sort of making my choices during the pre-show. I'm easily swayed by sentimental NBC packages about the horses But yeah, the Triple Crown is one of my favorite sporting events. I've missed it being on set the last two years and I'm determined to actually be able to watch tomorrow.
Derby Day!!! Everyone get their pick in! I'll be in Napa wine tasting so @Thumper09 or whoever can post the winners if you'd like. If not I'll do it when we're done for the evening.
At post time, it was between Take Charge Indy and I'll Have Another for me in my mind... so I'll say I was half right? Man, the heat there today looked like it was killing Hansen.
I finally got to watch the race. Wow that was exciting! Its going to be anyone's race in the Preakness. I'd say Bodemeister might be able to take that one at the shorter distance. I hope they aim Dullahan for the Belmont because another furlong and he might have passed the two. Pretty awesome to have a horse win from the 19 spot too!
Can a mod please update the thread title to say The Preakness instead of the Derby? Thanks! Here are the horses! Get your pics in! @solojones It doesn't count unless you post here Win: Bodemeister Place: Creative Cause Show: I'll have another PostHorseJockeyOdds 1. Tiger Walk K. Desormeaux 30-1 2. Teeth of the Dog J. Bravo 15-1 3. Pretension J. Santiago 30-1 4. Zetterholm J. Alvarado 20-1 5. Went the Day Well J. Velazquez 6-1 6. Creative Cause J. Rosario 6-1 7. Bodemeister M. Smith 8-5 8. Daddy Nose Best J. Leparoux 12-1 9. I'll Have Another M. Gutierrez 5-2 10. Optimizer C. Nakatani 30-1 11. Cozzetti J. Lezcano 30-1
No problem, 'sey. I will refrain from the picks, though. I embarrasse myself with NHL predictions, I don't need to do it for a sport that I'm not that familiar with.
Win: Bodemeister Place: I'll have another Show: Went the Day Well As much as I want to see a Triple Crown winner sometime in my life and as much as I also hate to look as if I'm copying... Bodemeister simply ran too magnificently the the majority of those breaks to not be heavily favored in this shorter race.
I swear I made my picks before I saw either of yours. Win: Bodemeister Place: I'll Have Another Show: Creative Cause We'll see if my long streak of picking the wrong horses continues!
Lol if Bodemeister doesn't win we're all gonna be hella surprised. Is it supposed to be a fast track?
Last I saw it was listed as fast which is why I picked him. If he can repeat his Derby performance he's going to win.
