ITT, we figure out what's going to happen to Tebow, how Manning to the Broncos went down and where the other free agents will sign. Discuss.
That's just a terrible idea...it's not going to go well. I'd have kind of liked to see him go to Jacksonville. As polarizing as he is, maybe he can get some people to their home games.
The best thing for Tebow would have been to go to an elite team that's capable of developing quarterbacks, where he can sit behind a quarterback no one will want him to replace and learn how to be a better quarterback -- somewhere like Green Bay or New England. Instead, he goes to an offensively inept team that will in no way be able to develop him and where he'll be a massive distraction for the starting QB. And from the team side, the teams that should want him are those either with a rock-solid starter who can use him for some packages and develop new looks, or those hopeless teams without a starter where he can compete for the job and provide some sort of upgrade or sense of hope to tide them over while they upgrade the rest of the team and wait a year or two to get a real quarterback, like Jacksonville or Miami. Instead, the Jets are going to have him undermining Sanchez and little chance of actually doing anything good with him. Plus the fact that he completely clashes with the team's whole character. This deal just doesn't make any sense from the Jets' side, and doesn't do Tebow any favors either. It's pretty incomprehensible. I predict disaster. But since it's a Jets disaster, that's just fine with me.
And now Adam Schefter's saying the trade might not even happen because the Jets weren't paying attention to what was in Tebow's contract. Oh, those crazy Jets.
Elway is acting like a complete dingleberry about this situation. Just unload Teblow and pray that Manning makes it through the season healthy and possibly post-season. Then make up the difference for that ridiculous amount of money you paid for him.
What, and give it to the Colts? I really don't think Peyton Manning would want an asterisk next to one of his wins if they did that. However, I can see the Saints being force to play thru half a season with scab players because everyone got suspended for 8 weeks
Nah. Losing their coach for the entire year is bad enough. What I can't make sense of is the mismatch between Payton and Loomis's suspensions. Pretending championships didn't exist is always a bad idea anyway.
No I don't want it awarded to the Colts. Maybe I pay too much attention to college football, but the Championship is always the first thing taken away even if it is one player who made an infraction.
This is the most hilarious offseason ever. All my Jets friends were freaking out on Facebook; the guys in a bad way and the girls in a good way.
I don't understand the Jet's thinking. Sanchez sucks but he doesn't suck enough to be replaced with Tebow.
I don't think they're looking to replace him. I think they're looking to use Tebow in a very specific way and put in double QB option.
I don't see Tebow as the solution in NY. You don't look for your 2nd string QB to be the team leader.
The thing is Tebow might even be 3rd on the depth chart. The Jets signed Drew Stanton and gave him a decent signing bonus. I wouldn't be surprised if he is going to run the option or just play cut back/2nd QB like they do in Cincy with their wild cat.
Yeah, the fact that they went out and already locked up Stanton is another layer of icing on the WTF cake that is the Tebow move.
