Yoda's Species In all seriousness though, it was never said exactly what Yoda and Yaddle (if you use SW Tales) are. All we know is that they are insanely long lived and have a *ahem* unique way of talking.
Curious how George purposely keeps that unknown. Though I guess that prevents any possible EU stupidity from occuring.
That doesn't mean much considering Lucas has been involved in plenty of EU stupidity like Anakin Solo's death and TCW.
At least we know that Yoda's species included females. Yaddle and Yoda were keeping secrets during TPM.
Yoda: Like your puppet rods, I do. Yaddle: Oh Yoddie. Does anyone else get a mental picture of Yoda in a smoking jacket with a pipe while whispering in Yaddle's ear? Forget the Padme/Anakin fireplace scene in AOTC!
He often has a double standard to the Expanded Universe. He will grant his approval (or disapproval) to certain things, but he's stated more than once that the films are the only true source (Luke doesn't get married, Leia becomes a senator, Emperor isn't revived). Seems like he knows he'll never have true control over what authors make, but still wants to regulate certain things.
I know Lucas is a control freak, if the questionable decisions with some of the changes in the Special Editions are any indication, but why can't Lucas leave other people's work alone? For example, RotS was created with the Clone Wars multimedia project (and to a lesser extent its derivatives) in mind, but TCW is breaking that carefully crafted storyline for naught, and Lucas' reasoning for having Anakin Solo killed off was flawed.
Is there any EU about Yoda as a padawan? I know there are fanfics, but I'm wondering about legitimate EU.
Lucas says what he is in from puppet to pixels he's Miss piggy and Kermits love child so he's a fr.. no can't say that he's a prog
