We discovered this show when they began running nightly reruns and couldn't get enough. We watched everynight till we caught up. Where do I start? The casting is wonderful..Leonard, Roj, Howard, and of course Sheldon...the kind of guy who in the normal world would be made fun of behind his back and no one would really want to be around him much...(kind of like on the show), but yet he has this small group of loyal friends, Love the snarkiness, especially when it comes to Sheldon...the sarcasm, the nerdy intelligence of the guys Anyone see the recent new episode when Sheldon and his nemesis Kripke at the school was vying for the same office with a basketbal game? We laughed till we cried. And then all the references to Sci-Fi (including Star Wars, but most often Star Trek, Battlestar Gallactica, Super heroes, etc) as well as video games (Halo being on of theri favorites). And then the girls, startign with Penny. I love it when it's Penny against Sheldon, love the looks she gets on her face, how she teases him and stands up to him when the guys won't usually... Amy (Sheldon's friend..the way they met was classic), and Howard little fiance - Bernadette, cute as a button and very intelligent. The casting on this show is perfect, and the chemistry between them is part of what makes this work so well...what a great show to distract me from all fictional things Obi-Wan... Anyone else seen this show, and what do you think about it?
It's my favorite show too. I'm already a math-nerd, but it makes me want to learn physics so I can be a physics-nerd too.
i think it's awful, but normally i wouldn't care. people can watch whatever dumb show they want. everyone is entitled to their guilty pleasures. it's just frustrating because one of the two or three best comedies on television is on in the same time slot and struggling to stay on the air.
It isn't horrible but it surely is not comic gold. Scarp Tyler. Star Wars Sim Forum. Scapro Tyler. Star Wars The Old Republic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.
*piles on* I found out that my parents watch BBT repeats religiously. They're in their 50's, so I guess they have a supernatural compulsion to watch CBS programming. They also called me "Sheldon."
lololol@Darth Guy It's not the worst show ever, but I don't watch it. Stereotyped nerds, a dumb blonde and predictable jokes.
I think the show is hilarious and endearing. Sheldon's mannerisms, obsessive personality and naivete make the show go. Penny is the perfect tv girl. She's cute, but not so ridiculously attractive that she seems way out of a normal guy's league. She hangs out with nerds, so you feel like you'd have a shot with her. She's also sweet as can be, look at the way she puts up with Sheldon. Yes, I love Sheldon and Penny's interactions, there's a great spark between the two because they're polar opposites and Penny is so tolerant of him. It's a great gag that I've really missed since Amy showed up. Yes, Bernadette is very cute, the actress puts on a nice voice performance. She also does a very funny impression of Howard's mother. At times early in the show they took the nerdish behavior way too far, but I think they've found the right balance.
Oh c'mon, Emily, don't be so mean. Let him think of his favorite sitcom in terms of "Hey, maybe I'd have a shot with the main female character!" Besides, Community has two.
Seems just like any other sitcom with an annoying laugh track, whether it's from an audience or not. The one dimensional characters just happen to be nerds instead of a dysfunctional family, bunch of twentysomethings or whatever else it usually sitcomy.
