A few weeks ago I asked this girl out. I said "Hey, are you doing anything friday night?" She said "Yup, I'm going to the North vs. South game." (a highschool football game that friday) I replied "Oh, ok. Seeya." I did see her at that game, so at least she didn't lie. But now I'm wondering, was it clear that I was asking her out?

Almost certainly - especially if you don't normally ask about her weekend plans as a matter of habit. wink

Not sure. Try being a little more specific next time, because I kinda made the same mistake(see my previous posts).

Actually, Terp, your situation makes sense to me from the girl's point of view.

Certainly she views you as at least a casual friend, but maybe she's not quite ready for a one-on-one date. Many girls probably appreciate the double-date or group date because there's safety in numbers. If she realizes that, while she can talk to you as a friend (and understand, some people become a lot more personal in online conversations than they're able to be in person because they're nervous), she doesn't really feel a connection with you as a couple, she doesn't have to spend the rest of the date worrying about how it will end - she can pair up with one of the other girls on the way home, for example. However, if you sit next to each other at the movie (and I'd recommend having a dinner or something either before or after, so there's actually a chance for conversation) and she feels comfortable in your presence, the door's open for another date.

One of my first "dates" with my boyfriend worked that way - we weren't really dating at that point, but we ended up next to each other at the theater and at dinner and I stole some of his popcorn. wink

That's been - what - 5 years ago? Maybe even 6?

So, let her have the additional comfort of having a few extra friends to keep the conversation from getting too intimate or emotionally demanding. If she likes you, there will be other opportunities.

The next time I see her I'll ask about next weekend, and invite some other friends.

Sounds like a good idea. There's no need to rush into a romantic relationship, no matter what your heart or hormones are saying right now.

The best relationships build as friendships first. It's important, when the intense passion turns to comfortable routine, that you can still relate to one another as friends.

Anyway, if you end up going to the movies as a group, do try to make sure you sit next to her - and don't eat your popcorn too quickly. It'll give you an excuse to offer her some halfway through the film. wink

Well, I don't know. A friend of mine tried to hook me up with another girl and I've been seeing where that was gonna go this week and weekend.

Question: I was in this relationship with this girl, but now she has a curtain on her door...

What should I do?

Wow, I didn't think that I would come off as that clingy. After reading your posts I can see where you're coming from, though. The extra perspective did help.

Rampani-Ask the girl that lives next door to you out. She sounds cool, so go for it.
