If he goes to Man City it will mean that (i) he has no desire to play at the top level and (ii) Man City have no intention of building a team in the proper manner.

So Fergie is not havin' the best of summers, then.
First Utd announce Ramsey's signing.
Then Arsenal sign him.
Then Ronaldo announces he may be off.
Now Quieroz looks like he may even be gone before Ronaldo returns from his hols, thereby removing one of the Puce One's aces from up his sleeve that he was going to use to try and hang on to the Winker.
I expect he has enjoyed better seasons by the pool...

I admit if I had to pick between a team that will probably never win anything or a team that just won the Champions League and the EPL I'd probably pick the latter.

er, does anyone else think that Barca reportedly offering £30m for Adebayor is a little excessive? Adebayor had a great season, yes, but it was only one season. £30m is extravagant if you ask me. great business if Arse can sell him for that, given he cost, what, £7m 18 months ago?
i don't know how they do it. it would be almost as good financially as the Anelka deal.

I loled as well but the Spanish should have had more class. One of the England players who was in the side for the semifinal loss to Germany in 1990 and who was chosen for the urine test after the game said that while he and a teammate were waiting in a room with two Germans until they could pee (took a while because they were dehydrated from the long match) the Germans didn't celebrate and sat in silence throughout. i.e. so as not to rub their faces in it. I think that's pretty classy.

It IS extravagant, but if he wants to go (which appears to be the case), and we can get that money, then all good.
I always thought it was 7mill, but the paper was saying 4.2m this morning...
Either way, it's a bunch of profit.
And we are able to do it because Arsene is a cunning fox, little e.

true, it would a hell of a profit in such a short period of time. but where will the goals come from? arsenal have had a fair bit of turnover in the forward department over the last couple of seasons, henry and now potentially adebayor. van persie has had injury problems, walcott still developing. eduardo injured. and with flamini gone as well surely we can expect to see arsene make some purchases in the coming months...

Daily Mail are reporting that Ferguson and Gill are confident that they've won the fight to keep Ronaldo. Not sure how much I believe the Mail, but it's reassuring that a few sources are saying that he's staying.

he's having the ankle operation, too, potentially delaying the start of the season. all handled by and paid for by United and their doctors. he'll stay.

the inevitable public statement concerning this whole situation, whatever that entails, will be an important first step. fans will forgive him if he says the right things and goes about his business again next season.
and doesn't repeat this whole process again next summer.
