Any excitement for the upcoming Olympics? Here's the draw(from BBC):
Group A
Ivory Coast
Serbia
Argentina
Australia
Group B
Netherlands
USA
Nigeria
Japan
Group C
China
Belgium
New Zealand
Brazil
Group D
South Korea
Italy
Cameroon
Honduras
My two countries in one group. Should be painful to watch.

I noticed as I was reading. That sucks.
I think the teams only get a certain number of 'overage' players and I'm not sure how many top players are being allowed to compete by their clubs so I really don't know what to expect.

Chelsea have also made a statement saying that they have NOT made a bid.
However, Kaká's agent has made a statement saying that they have, and that Milan are likely to accept.
Statements and counter statements!
If he does go though, then the dominoes may start to fall, with Adebayor possibly next in the direction of Milan...
We shall see.

Two good articles in The Observer today:
1.
England's dream teen
A profile on Theo Walcott which, in an age of ludicrously pampered footballers, is very heartening. And whilst at 19 he still has plenty of time to **** himself up, one certainly hopes that he remains as level-headed as he currently is - even if he is not quite as exciting off the pitch as on it.
2.
Kaká's divine abilities can redeem Chelsea
Very interesting article. The profile on the current world's greatest footballer is a good one, but more interesting is the reporter's thoughts that Kaká could be Chelski's salvation in more ways than one...

He seems like he would be a positive influence in the dressing room as well. I don't really see Ronaldinho being that, either.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said he owns him.
He seems like he would be much more beneficial as a role model for the youth team members.
Plus he's ****-hot with a football at his feet.

See that's what I thought you meant.
EDIT: as for British talent I think the F.A. needs to get their finger out when it comes to how the young players are trained. Don't other countries give them something like double the time on the ball each week?

I don't know the stats, but basically, yeah.
That has been our problem here for such a long time. There is a such rush to get kids playing competitively, instead of getting them to learn to have the ball at their feet.

So Makelele has left for PSG.
But Cech has signed on until 2013.
