Aim Chat (version 1)
To fill in anyone who has missed out on it, a lot of JCers chat in a chatroom nightly using AOL Instant Messenger.
The chat was tittled "jcchat", and was open to everyone who had AIM. It got pretty busy on a nightly basis, and was quite the place for fun conversation and meeting and getting to know fellow JC'ers.
Lately, over the past 2 weeks or so, the chat has been abandoned. This is due to the fact that a lot of the members started their own chats, until the original was all but forgotten. The problem is, the new chats are not JC Chats, and nor are they open to anyone. They are often very hard to find, and "Invite Only" on many occasions.
I would like to ressurect the original chat. No name changes, no confusion.
If you have AIM, click "Chat" on your main window, and invite yourself into "jcchat". We're more then welcome to have you.  .

Great post man. These chats should be open to everyone, and not just "exclusive" to one select group.

You need AIM, although there is something out there called AIM Express, where you can sign on without having to install anything on your computer. You also need an AIM account, which is free.
There's no reason not to join.

My old compy wants to take over a half hour to download aim. Then I am told I can't use it because of the settings on my browser. I change them and I still get a no. Screw aim, screw aol.

EDIT: Actually there are a few people already in ShinyChat, so go there if you want.
And scummy, usually there are a few people on during the day, but it gets going later in the evening.

How do AIM chats work? I mean do you create a permanent chat or when everyone is gone someone has too restart it?
