Howdy all! I am back from two weeks vacation on the west coast. Everything was fun except travelling cross-country with a two year old  . That part I could have done without!
We spent one week in Oregon with my family and one week in Nrthern Ca. with my wife's family. The kids had a great time, and the grandparens were happy to spend some time with the gandkids. All in all, it was a pretty good trip.
I even picked up a new geek hobby on the trip; geocaching. For those who have never heard of it, it involves using a GPS to hunt for boxes hidden by other people. The coordinates are posted online at Geocaching.com where you can search for hidden caches in your local area. It is pretty fun and gives you a good excuse to get out exploring and get some excercise.
So, what has been happening around here in the last two weeks other than Crash getting half of a floor done?

I found out that bridal gown are utterly expensive and still wait for the summer to arrive in the Netherlands. It rained that much that the energy of the entire street block went out on sunday for about 1 1/2 hours. Too much stress for an old lady like me.
But DU laughed, told me not to worry about the stuff in the freezer or the deep freeze and did take out a card game plus candles.
We are getting old, DU & I indeed. We find pleasure in card games and staying at home.

argh, my healthy eye got attacked by the hot fat when i did open the oven... nooo. i can not see the screen and at all. why the... did i not use the glas bowl with a lit when i put the stuffed paprika into the oven.
now i was shushed out of the kiitchen i must sit here in front of du s computer with a wet cloth.

Nicole, look for places that are having special or have racks of dresses that haven't been picked up and they have to sell for less money.
Now Crash, we wanted to know more about the floor. Is it the snap together stuff? And is this being put on a new room or an old room and if it is old are you just overlaying over the old floor or did you pull it up?

Morning everyone!
We had a one car attached garage, and everyone else in the neighborhood just converted theirs into a larger living room/bedroom, so that's what we're doing. The flooring is just that floating laminate that lays right over the existing concrete (house is on a slab), so it was easy to put together. I'm almost done, probably got about 85% of the room done. I'm going to try and finish it out tonight!
I'll have to post pics.

We're trying to decide what to do with our floor. There are places that need to be fixed so do we tear up the old once they are fixed or just put down the new.

Better to fix it now, if you're going to rip the old floor up anyhow. The last thing you want is to lay the new floor down only to find that you have to rip it all up again to fix the subfloor.
It's always better to spend a little bit extra, and just do it right the first time.
