Rules for the SLEEPY TOWER
1. As goes with all Roleplaying, god-modding is NOT allowed.
2. If you are eliminated/Murdered, you may not return in character. For this game, however, I am willing to be lenient. You may return as ghost, OOC commentator, etc... but do not abuse this privilege.
3. No inexplicable shortcut teleportation powers. In Sleepy Castle, there was a "poof!' epidemic where players thought it was okay to "poof! [insert x]" and whatever they wanted would appear or what they wanted to do would come true. Now obviously a lot of characters in this game will have fantastical, magical powers but try to stick to the powers they are known to have. You can have shortcut teleportation powers, but it better have a good explanation.
Death in the SLEEPY TOWER
>>Murders will usually be final. In this game, however, I am going to make use of "resurrection" as a challenge reward. But do not ask for it. At the very most, only three players will have their characters resurrected by the time TOWER has run its course.
>>the punishment for elimination is a 24-hour ban. But you can sock it, so no sweat!
>>Do not come whining to me if you get eliminated. Why? Because I'm not the dealbreaker. The Murderer is.
>>if for some unforeseen reason, you decide you want to "leave" the game you will still be banned and your character murdered. Once leaving/quitting, you cannot return. Quitters will not be eligible for my resurrection twist.
Winning the SLEEPY TOWER
Winning this game is no easy feat. The odds are perhaps worse than those of the "Ban or No Ban" game. You have a 1 in 49 (since one is the Murderer) chance of winning. However, all past Sleepy players have always found the game worthwhile, regardless of winning or losing.
That said, the game will eventually consist of just three players. Two of these players are innocent; and the third is the Murderer. The Murderer chooses who gets the axe AND who wins the SEVENTH SLEEPY GAME, by eliminating one of these two players. The last killed will receive no "special treatment". He or she will receive a 24 hour ban the same as everybody else. The Winner is the one who finally defeats the Murderer and lives to the survive the horror of the Tower.
The Winner shall receive ONE WHOLE WEEK of VIPship.
Identity of the Murderer
Sleepy Tower will have a great trail of clues. But with this will come a mirror image of red herrings.
The Murderer I choose for the beginning of the game is not necessarily going to survive the whole game. He or she CAN be found out, eliminated and replaced by a new Murderer!
Upside to being a Murderer
+should you survive to the end of the game, you will not be banned
+you decide who wins
+you decide who dies and how
The first Murderer has been chosen by myself recently. This one may turn out to be the only Murderer when the game has run its course.
Downside to being a Murderer
-you sign off your chances at getting a weeklong VIPship
-you can be found out, eliminated, and replaced at any time and you'll never know by whom
If you think you know who the Murderer is AND you want to replace this person, PM me with your guess. If you are right, you replace the Murderer. If you are wrong, you lose the game. Your character will be murdered ASAP!
A few things about Roleplaying
OOC
It stands for "out of character". If you have a question about the game or something else, ask it OOC. If you want to comment about something out of character, OOC before it. Discuss clues, murder posts OOC- then OOC before it. Or even just to socialize. OOC IS NEVER IMPLIED.
IC
It stands for "in character". IC consists of both your character's actions, thoughts, and dialogue- it is not attributed to just one of the two. So there should be no asterisking. THE IC IS IMPLIED. It does not need to be posted before everything. Remember, "in character" means just that- in character. Act your character but with a bit of yourself thrown in the mix as well (since that's inevitable).
For the beginning of the game, please use IC followed by "as [your character]" so people can memorize who is who w/o having to refer back to the player list. It is your option to put your character name and SP involvement in your signature.
Also, in IC, remember to refer to other players with their character names. In OOC, just their screen names.
TAG
When RPing, you will usually be interacting with other players. The players you know your character is interacting with you should put a TAG followed by [other player's/players' name(s)], especially when there's a lot of activity in the game thread. This TAG goes at the end of your post, whenever you sue it.

And last but not least.... I'd like to acquaint you with certain elements of the Tower, including your Starting Place.
This is a rough-sketch overview of the Tower, located at the South Pole.
The Tower: As you can see, the Tower is 1-mile high and could be considered an arcology (artificial living habitat). The men who envisioned and designed it called it the Acroholo. Construction began in 2020. It abruptly ended for unknown reason in 2033. The tower had achieved its planned height but only half its many floors had been furnished and dressed with glass, etc... But the most important aspect of the Tower... the SPACE ELEVATOR.... located in between the four individual towers you see in the sketch, is fully complete.
The Discontinuation: In 2033, construction came to an end but the Tower was not complete. All the builders, carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, etc... died where they stood for no apparent reason. Their many bodies are spread throughout the Tower. The contractors and engineers vanished into thin air. And the Tower appears to have been forgotten by civilization, as they have made no effort to locate it in the many years after the Discontinuation.
The Man: As the man who originally envisioned this space elevator and arcology deluxe, Mars Miles Madding primarily financed the tower's creation from his own pocket. It was no small expense and the erection has dwindled much of his trillion-dollar fortune. The construction is a well-kept secret, one held by builders to government bureaucrats. Triple-M disappeared after the Discontinuation. His whereabouts are unknown.
The Butler: Gottfried is Triple-M's right-hand. He is a Butler for the Tower, of sorts. He will initiate and facilitate many of the challenges that your characters will face, at Triple-M's behest. Whether Gottfried is insane, thinking he serves a still-living Master, or if Triple-M really is alive, remains to be seen.
The Experiments: Beside the space elevator, the Tower served for a variety of other experiments begun shortly before the Discontinuation, one of which led to the emergence of the 50 fictional characters. How can experiments have begun if the Tower was not complete? The primary, bulk portion of it was complete (you can see it in the sketch), as well as the underground portion (which mirrors the Tower's one mile height). Another experiment involved the most advanced dual computer/robot system in the world, integrated into the great structure itself, and now many years later, it will become evident the Tower has a mind of its own.
The Force Field: An oval forcefield surrounds the entire tower, skyscraper and underground, in a bubble. Objects can enter from outside but cannot exit from within, including the most powerful of fantastical characters.
The Ringbridge: Connecting all the four individual towers at the top is a big ring, like a crown. This is your Starting Place. I ask that until after the first challenge, all characters remain here. Don't worry, it's quite a big place, as big as the Pentagon (the Ringbridge specifically). Plenty of room to RP. The giant cable that is the space elevator goes through the Ringbridge like a thread. If you look at the bottom-left drawing in the sketch, you'll see straight bridges connecting all the towers. Those aren't the Ringbridge. They are separate. The Ringbridge is at the very top, connecting all towers.
Starting Place: Now I will provide you with an exact description of the Starting location. The outer edge of the Ringbridge is an open-air area protected from the elements only by a very large, one-pane window (yes, it's one pane, the window wraps around the entire ring in one piece). The open-air area is about five stories high, with balconies and staircases protruding from each floor.
Your characters will find themselves on the FIRST FLOOR of this Ringbridge, near the window providing a stunning vista of the Antarctic surrounding the South Pole. Opposite this great window, a feat in and of itself, is a wall below the many balconies and staircases. This wall is home to numerous portraits of Triple-M, in various poses, whether on a horse or driving a golf ball down a fairway. Every tenth picture is a totalitarian, Mao-like portrait of his crudely angled, sharply defined face. Under each of these is a label with the initials "M.M.M."
You will eventually find.... a DISHWASHER.
It will be noticeable because it's not in a kitchen and is just laying in a sitting area of the Vista Hall. It is locked and secured by a code.
Make your introductory posts and meetings with other characters before the discovery of this dishwasher.
And now.... you may begin.

Taking a look around, he lets out a slow breath. “Well…this is certainly interesting.”

Lord Voldemort circled the arena in which he faced off against his young foe, Harry Potter. He and Potter had been transpoted to this strange areana with an orange sky after falling through the Veil in the Department of Mysteries.
"You want escape me this time, Potter! There's no one left to save you. Great Dumbeldore is dead and your pitiful friends cannot find you here. It is just you and me this time Potter." Voldemort sneered at his nemesis.
"You didn't fair so well last time it was just the two of us, Voldemort. You were nearly destroyed and I was just a baby!" screamed Harry.
"SILENCE! I will not suffer your insolence. I have rectified my mistake; your mother's love cannot save you here."
"That's true, but I have destroyed your precious horcruxes and now all I have to do is kill you!"
"We shall see Potter, we shall see... EXPELLIARMUS!" Harry's wand went flying. Harry dove after it, but he wouldn't be able to reach it time.
"I have you now! AVADA..." At that moment Voldemort felt ground shake. What magic is this!? he thought as everything around him went dark.
He awoke hours later in a dark room. Dusting his robes as he stood up, Voldemort looked around him. He was standing beside a giant window that overlooked a snowy landscape a mile below. On the opposite wall were several paintings of the same man, MMM apparently. The Hall he was in appeared to stretch around in one giant circle.
Where am I? Filthy mudblood Potter! Where has he sent me?
OOC: The Harry Potter I refer to is not the same Harry Potter as played by Darth_Brutus666, so I'm not God-Modding. That whole thing is really an introduction.

Link was on top of Gannon's Tower, locked in Mortal Combat with the enemy. Ganon Himself! The fate of Hyrule and The Princess hung in the Balance. He drew back his Bow and was abotu to fire when a bright light filled the sky. He was nearly blinded and then he passed out.
When he came to he was still on top of...."Wait, THis isn't Ganon's Tower." He said to himself.
As he turned he realised that he wasn't alone.
There must be fifty creatures here he thought to himself. He drew his sword and shield.
"What in the name of the Triforce is going on here?"

IC Bugs Bunny:
A line of disturbed snow was wending its way toward the tower, and eventually it ended right on the other side of the door, inside the entryway to the tower. A moment later, out popped an unusually large grey rabbit. This was Bugs Bunny, oldest living example of his species in existence and one of the world’s most famous bachelors. “I knew I shoulda taken that left toin at Albuquerque.”
He whistled. “What a mah-velous place dis is!” He put his gloved hands behind his back as he strolled around the room. “My stahs.” It was some kind of ring that connected all of the towers, and there was a lovely view of the cold through a glass window. There were so many pictures of their host, a man who reminded him of Yosemite Sam, if in ego, not in size. He removed a carrot from somewhere and began chewing it noisily, wanting to take the opportunity to go exploring. He was not used to such luxury, especially since he had grown up so poor.
He remembered his youth in Brooklyn as generally happy, with one of the main exceptions being that time he was set upon by a gang of thuggish dogs. He had been tap-dancing along and singing “The Daughter of Rosie O’Grady,” and they had attacked him without provocation. This was the first time he had had to use his considerable wits against bullies, though certainly not the last. Throughout his life, he had met various interesting characters and had had many madcap adventures, but there was a common theme that had informed everything: he just wanted to be left alone. When such did not happen, things had a way of getting ugly . . . for the other person, or animal, or monster.
There were of course other people who were arriving all of the time. Maybe it was time to introduce himself to the others and see what was going on.

IC: The Doctor took a look around the area, seeing all the strange individuals that were starting to appear. The first one he had spotted was an unusual female with twin tentacles sprouted from her eyes, the next a bald albino man. Two others made their way into the room then, what appeared to be some sort of elvish creature and...a rabbit?
"Glad I dropped Rose back home," he muttered under his breath. "Don't think this would be the kind of place to take her."

He had noticed the guy that had materialized in the phone booth. This could be an interesting fellow. He walked up to the guy, chewing his carrot all the while. "Eh, what's up, Doc?"

Voldemort took a moment to compose himself. Not sense he had nearly been vanquished by Harry Potter had he felt so confused. But the confusion was momentary, Voldemort thoughts turned to his predicament. How can I get out of here?
He'd tried to Apparate back to the Ministry of Magic, but something had prevented it. Just then, he noticed others appearing around him. Most interesting was a man that appeared out of a blue box that appeared out of know where.
He must be a powerful wizard. Perhaps he'd be open to an alliance. I'll have to be wary, he might by an Auror from the Ministry.
He walked over quickly to the man near the blue box.
"You seem to be a very powerful wizard. How did you manage to Apparate into this place?"
