Season 5 of The Shield is possibly the best season of television I've ever seen. It gets very intense. When I saw it when it aired I was convinced it must be the final season because I couldn't imagine that they were going to get out of this one. The season finale is absolutely insane.

for some reason I have found myself writing a screenplay about a woman avoiding a stalker by hiding in a gas station bathroom, a teenager coming out of the closet, and a snail reuniting two feuding snail dynasties.

I have an idea for a dark comedy in which two guys are stalking the same woman and they find out about eachother and start a rivalry. At first they try to create a truce, where the first one would only stalk the woman on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and the other guy will stalk her during the rest of the week. But they can't come to an agreement, and decide to sabotage each other instead.
Looks like I got into some poison ivy while leaping around in the woods during our little shoot on monday. Bleeeh. 
Applied for another PA job on Craigslist. I figured out why I haven't got any responses from the other jobs I applied for. Apparently when I edit in this word pad thing, the margins are different than in Word. So I basically realized I'd sent resumes that looked like gobbledegook to 2 prospective employers.

Hey, when writing a screenplay, how does one indicate a simple passage of time with the scene remaining in the same location?

You can do a new scene heading and say "LATER."
As in "INT. LIVING ROOM - LATER" or "INT. LIVING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER" depending on how much time has passed. I suppose if the time of day changed and this was noticeable you'd just switch the time to NIGHT or DAY.

Oh man, what a day. My dad's old buddy gave me his old video camera equipment. 1 Sony TR101 Hi8 camera with wide angle lens adapter (old sure, but hey, it was free), external mic in need of one of those wind muffler things, but best of all, a seriously badass tripod and a C-stand.
Now, err, how do I get footage from a hi8 cassette to my comp? It came with a number of cables but I'm not sure.

Transfer it to mini-dv then download it to your computer. Otherwise the picture quality will be crappy.

You could but the pic quality will not be as good. I'd transfer it to mini-dv and then download it to your comp.

Yay old camera! The built in mic is so crappy, I have to use the external one, which, since the camera has no mount, I have to stick on a stand next to the camera. The batteries weigh a full pound and only last a half hour. What.
To think this thing cost like 2000 dollars when it came out in the early 90's...

That is more how a real shoot is anyhow. Nobody uses an onboard mic for real shoots! A boom pole with a boom op would be better than a stand, but a stand with an external is still way better than the onboard.
