have you considered perhaps finding a way to go and stay there for four-five days a week, and then return home for your days off?

That could be possible, but not until I save up more money. I don't have enough to get even a cheap apartment at this point. I'm not even staying at home now though, I'm staying at my college roommate's/writing partner's house in Jersey. I originally moved here so we could work on spec scripts for awhile. The original plan was I'd get some crap part time job to save up a little cash and we'd mainly focus on writing, and I did that at Target for a few weeks but I couldn't stand it. This is at least a step up from that.

In a few hours I have to wake up and go to work!!!! Arrrrrrrrrrr. Maybe I should stop drinking vodka?
Nah.
I have to talk to my boss tommorow and see if he's cool with me coming in less days. I can't keep doin this with the gas prices, it's killing me. Should be a fun old talk, yay.
I have another idea for a scritp, but I haven't started my other script yet, so I guess I'll stick in the ol mental wait pile.

I've applied for a ton of more jobs in the city where I'll be attending school in less than 2 months. Not hearing anything back. Been using craigslist to look for film-related paid internships/apprenticeships/PA work. I've typed up what I consider to be a really nice resume, and I send a personalized coverletter to each ad I answer...but just getting a thundering silence.
I hate my current job so I've used what little cash I have to buy a bunch of wholesale lots of vintage deadstock clothing to resell on ebay. If I profit enough in the coming weeks I may just quit my job and focus on ebay exclusively.

The problem with craigslist is there are like 30,000 other people using it to find film jobs as well, so every freaking job posting, if you're in a big city, is getting like 30,000 replies. They don't even read all of them, I wager.
Then again I got my current gig through craigslist, but it was from the centrral jersey page.

Well I constantly keep CL open in a tab and check it every hour. I shouldn't wonder if I'm not the first person to respond to some ads.

Well the boss is fine with me coming in three days a week and staying later. He wants me to fix some things from the first video I did. I partially blame the other editor who told me only to use cross-fades, and the boss is telling me some of the transitions should be fade in/outs, but I also have to partially blame myself because some of the cross-fades obviously suck. I wish some editing program would invent a cross-fade that would work wonderfully on all possible video clips.

So I've been trying to figure out how to get footage from this hi8 camera to my comp when I was rooting around my room I found an old dell usb TV tuner, complete with S-video and RCA jacks for component video and stereo audio.
So will that work?

I couldn't believe that scene when I saw it. Part way through the scene with Shane and Lem I started to wonder if it would happen, but I said "....nah, he couldn't...". The scene was pure brilliance. It just starts to build up a palpable sense of dread. I remember I was watching it with my roommate, and a few moments before it happened he says out loud "...no" with genuine concern. This guy never talks during The Shield. Talk about intense. Also, the dude playing Shane should have been nominated for an Emmy or something solely for that acting after the event. Amazing.
I think season 6 comes on DVD in the fall. Season 6 is fantastic, although I have to say it isn't AS good as season 5. It goes some pretty dark places though in the aftermath of the finale, but I get the feeling season 6 was ultimately just a set-up for the final season.

Does Dutch become a serial killer? Because he started looking like a psychopath towards the end of the season:

Not yet, but what he did do the cat in season 2 can't be a good sign. Season 6 doesn't give a lot to Dutch and Claudette really. Non-Strike Team characters are more in the peripheral and a lot of the season focuses on the fallout from what happened to Lem. It also introduces a new big villain who seems like he might be one of the main antagonists of the final season. Basically season 6 is just setting up the dynamics for the final arc and whatever the end game might be in the next season.
Me and my writing partner have just made a schedule for the next two or three months to get into some serious writing progress.
July 7-13 - Outline our Office spec.
July 14-20 - Write the thing.
July 21-26 - Edit the script/research on submissions.
End of July - Go back and re-edit our 30 Rock spec from a few months ago.
August - Start submissions of our 30 Rock and Office specs. Work on a sitcom pilot script.
Sometime in September - Start work on a feature script. Some kind of dramedy.
October 2010 - Dinner with Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais.
Also during this time I'm going to edit my last feature script and start work on the one I've been building in my head off and on for the last few months.
Yep...time to get busy.

Andalite, you got the editing job from CL right? How long did you have to wait before they contacted you back? I'm just worried because I've applied for like 7 PA/Intern jobs and it's been like a month. When it was the unpaid stuff I did a couple summers ago I was often contacted back within a week.
I'm worried I'm doing my resume right or something. I generally reply to an ad by introducing myself personally in the email body, and attaching a personalized coverletter informing the prospective employer about how thrilled I would be to work at "an actual production company" and then attach my resume (contact info, education, skills, job/volunteer experience, video/film experience, personal contacts)
Either I'm not doing this right or I am once again the unluckiest person in the world.

I was about to have one of those nights, but then Scorcese's documentary on Bob Dylan turned out to be airing on VH1 Classic. I might get back into later though and just not sleep until late. Probably I'll just do it tomorrow though.
I'm about to ready to start work on a feature I've been working on for awhile in my head. About 2 years ago for practicum at college I wrote like the first ten pages, but got distracted. I'm keeping the same concept of it but I'll rewrite from scratch, and I think I'm going to start making a nice outline over the weekend.
Edit: Jedi Reject Jesse way to make a post like 20 seconds before me!
Hmm. First of all, 7 isn't enough. I applied to that many or more a day, and this gig I have now is literally only like one of two or three who ever replied to me at all, ever. Second, some places prefer you include the resume in the body of the email, just because of the volume of responses they get I guess. I just do that to be safe, generally. You might want to consider it. I'd just reply to more, as many as you can, anything you feel you might remotely be qualified for.
And for this job, I forget how many days it was between when I applied and when they responded. A few days. When I first got the email I didn't remember which one it was from, so I had to go back to craigslist and re-find the ad.
