Flim flam film fan.

I'm watching Atonement.

Atonement has been sitting here unwatched, via netflix, for over two months now.

I watched season 1 of Weeds in two nights. Good stuff.

Just started watching Season 1 recently. I can't do any of the multiple episodes in a short time period thing, though.

I have decided to write a treatment instead of a screenplay. there are three different unrelated (well, almost unrelated) plots running throughout the film so I am essentially writing three treatments and then when writing the screenplay I will start looking for places to slice up the stories and intercut all three and stuff. fun, fun.

edit - Knightwriter, I was very much a fan of Atonement, but I would recommend reading the book before seeing the film.

I'm having trouble liking Weeds. I've only seen the first 2 episodes and it's not grabbing me like I feel it should. Of course it took several tries before I got into 30 Rock, too.

Not a bad scheme, Bacon.

I don't think I've ever written a full treatment. Usually I do a generalized outline of the basic plot points. My writing partner likes to do a strict scene by scene outline of thing, so for our specs I think we have a good balance. He is kind of a "by the rules of the screenwriting textbook, our A story should between this many beats in Act One" and I am more of a "screw what the book says, let's do what we want" kind of writer, so I think we strike a healthy in-between balance when we work together.

For my current script I'm going to make a good outline, but I don't know if I'm going to outline every individual scene. Maybe I will, I dunno. I've also just finished doing character bios for the main four characters, and I think it's going to be really helpful when it comes to character arcs and characterization. I just did a basic background of their history and described their personality traits and their basic desires and goals.

Also Bacon would you like me to send you my apocalypse script? No rush or anything, but if you wanna read it I wouldn't mind. I think I'm going to submit it to a few contests or something.

oh yes that would be lovely. here is my email address: bacon164@yahoo.com. I have never been the most excellent feedback person, but I will especially try in this case.

as far as my writing style is concerned, I don't think I've really written enough screen material to to know what it is. I predict that I am in between you and your writing partner.

I suppose fermented feces and industrial adhesives would persist.

The script actually takes place in the immediate days prior to the end of the world, so there are still regular drugs left.

Ah. Pre-apocalyptic.

Edit: I'm about 20 minutes into Atonement. I'm guessing this is all about prepubescent girls flirting with grown men. The chocolate bar scene is creepy as hell.

Andalite, the date I have chosen to post my opinions of your apocalypse script is July 8th, as I am off work that day and I will probably be free to come up with several paragraphs of feedback. I have read through it once but I'm going to read it a couple more times before I say anything. just to make sure I don't miss anything.

this post has been made so that you do not think I have forgotten about it or something.
