Isn't now the time where we cycle through to talking about our health problems, Josh? I think it's about that time in this conversation

I'm looking for a good external dvd burner so I can put my films on them.
Any suggestions of which one to get?

(Red) would be even better! Bono would personally fly in and give you a kiss.

I just finished the first season of the Wire about an hour ago. It was really good, although people keep promising it's the best show they've ever seen. I'm wondering if my nostalgia is going to get in the way of my believing so. But as of right now, it's a pretty good show, but it's far from being best ever.
I'll finish the series, though, unless it really starts to suck at some point. I'm guessing my opinion of it will raise as I go.

Does Amazon have a history of removing the nice booklets that detail the chapters and special features that come with some DVDs?

FIIIIIIILLLLLLLLMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Yeah, so remember my dad's friend who gave me his old Hi8 camera? Well I'm getting a Quartz halogen light with light stand from him too. Barn doors and everything. Sa-Weeet.
Also I'm selling a ton of stuff for him too (on ebay, of course). This is guy who has a lifetime of photography equipment, but he's now hanging up his hat, having been left behind during the digital revolution. Kind of sad really.

I'm getting a Red next year. I'm waiting until I can order a total package that's worthy of shooting a feature, instead of ordering everything piecemeal like a lot of people are doing. It's gonna run me about $ 35,000 and I think it will be worth every PENNY.
Several friends of mine already own one and I've played around with them a little. They're awesome. I usually roll my eyes at techno-hyperbole, but I think they're the future of filmmaking....certainly indie filmmaking. Actors hate them though...they show every pore and wrinkle of the skin...of course there are ways to diffuse that but still...the 4k clarity is amazing!

That would be my dream camera. What's the max resolution? Like 4000p? It leaves today's standards of hi def in the dust.
Right now my friends and I run around with a DVX100B with custom lens adapter. Though when I get enough money I'll probably get an HVX200 or HPX120.

A DVX is pretty nice, especially in 24p. I shot all of my college projects on that thing. Perfect for the ultra low budget indie flick.
Screenwriting progress ended up being somewhat stalled last week, but tomorrow me and my partner are going to do some serious work on our Office spec. I have most of the basics of my new feature script in my head, I just have to get it down onto the computer. I think I'm going to submit my last feature script to some writing contests, once I fix it up here and there.

I am slowly making progress on a rough outline of my... script. I have decided with some advice from Andalite and others that for this feature, I should outline down to a microscopic level before proceeding to a rough draft.

Good call, Bacon!
I was happy earlier because in the latest issue of Script magazine, there is an interview with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and they discussed their writing habits, which match perfectly to how me and my writing partner operate. They say that a lot of writing partners split the work, as in one guy will write Act One and the other Act Two, or one will write the A story and the other does the B and C story, etc. Seth and Evan work on the entire script together, collaborating on everything. One of them, Evan I think, always types. This is exactly what me and my writing partner do. (I am the typer.)
