I don't know if I'd call it my most hated movie, but the ending of Contact was a major letdown. I really liked the rest of the movie, but the last part really ruined the whole setup for me.
Signs was pretty dumb, particularly due to the ending as well.

king_alvarez posted: And while I hate the "you just don't like it because you don't understand it" argument, I do think it is important to at least give a little consideration to how other people may have perceived the intent of the movie instead of just one's own view.
I don't think you really hate that argument. It seems much more plausible that the argument didn't live up to the perceived hype, thus resulting in a hatred of the emotional letdown, disappointment, and failed expectations, rather than of the argument itself.

Agreed and agreed.
I also never got what was so special about American Beauty or Sideways. American Beauty was predicated on a bunch of elitist falsehoods, and filled with one-dimensional characters having no redeeming value. Sideways was similarly filled with despicable characters that I could not relate to (although I do find many pinot noirs to be quite tasty).

I'm going to chime in with so-called King Arthur. Either from a legendary or historical standpoint, the movie mutilated Arthurian studies, and was in addition an illogical, poorly-shot misfire riddled with cliched characters and anachronistic feministic baloney.

Add to this list: Dungeons & Dragons: the Movie, Highlander II, Highlander: Endgame, and worst of them all, Highlander: the Source.

batman and robin, no debate. Even the campy 60's show was 10 times better than that pile of garbage. But, I will say one thing, if not for that piece of garbage, we might not have the Nolan and Bale franchise.
not even Uma Thurman saved it.
Can't blame clooney, would be curious to see how he would fare if someone like Nolan directed him.

All of the above! B&R, Highlander: Any Sequel You Care to Name, D&D (tho' the straight-to-DVD sequel was actually kinda good, what with the Negro lich and the actual adherence to game rules and oh yeah, no Wayans!), and King Arthur.
