Yes. One of my friends used to gush about this movie all the time and about how awesome Kevin Spacey was in it. It's only recently that she's finally admitted that it's just a bad, bad, movie.

I hate Romeo and Juliet with the passion of a thousand suns. Why? Because the entire play wasn't written to tell a story or make a point, but for no other reason than to pull as people's heartstrings. The characters are flat and idiotic, the plot illogical. Hamlet and Macbeth are frakking awesome, however, as they are actual stories with well-drawn characters and interesting plots.
As for movies, probably Ninth Gate. It is the most boring, pretentious, self-important three hours I have ever wasted on a film. Others on the list would be the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels or the first Resident Evil movie (the only one I stand to sit through).

The remake of Psycho. This is the epitome of film blaspheme. And they couldn't even do the very basic thing of getting any of it well-cast except for William H. Macy. I mean, Vince Vaughan as Norman Bates? WTH were they thinking?!

Just plain not true. Some people might not think it's a good Superman movie because they have a different vision of the character, but it's a good movie regardless. Hence why all the non-nerd people I know in film school thought it was very good. Because they weren't holding it to their one specific vision of the character out of the dozens there have been. They were just looking at it like a movie. Also why critics appreciated it.

Well, it's worth noting that this was made back when Vince Vaughan was trying his hand at serious roles (like this one and The Cell), and before he found wider success in comedic roles that he's been doing these days. The first time I ever saw Vaughan on the screen was when he was doing serious stuff. Took me a while to imagine the same guy was now making stuff like Wedding Crashers and Dodgeball.
But I agree with you though: remaking Psycho shot-for-shot, angle-for-angle seemed kind of pointless. It literally left nothing for a different interpretation, so after I saw it I wondered why on earth the studio green-lit this one.

I am not sure any of those labels apply to me at all and while the film isn't exactly Wizard of Oz or Gone with the Wind, its one of those nifty cult films I fell in love with in college that despite its quality I still find awesome everytime. Yes even cross dressing Willem Dafoe.

Can't say any one movie as my most hated, but the newest among that group is Sweeney Todd. It's not that it is a completely terrible movie with no redeeming qualities. The film had a couple of good actors, it just didn't use them right, and I'll even admit to enjoying one or two scenes. But by and large it was poorly made, dull and extremely predictable. Now this by itself wouldn't make me hate the movie. Usually I would just brush it off and forget about it. However the fact that seemingly everyone is like "ohmygod I love that movie and know all the lyrics by heart" at the slightest mention of it is what drives me to hate it.
