Inconceivable! shock

For me I think the movies I most hate are the Matrix sequels, Napoleon Dynamite, and most of the Harry Potter movies.

Moulin Rouge.

Just....why?

Ewan wasn't even hot in it because I hate people that look creepily perfect, as he did/always does.

It's official, people have awful tastes in film on the JCC. Children of Men, Clockwork Orange, Moulin Rouge, 28 Days Later, The Princess Bride. These movies are all at the very least above average.

lol.

I love both Signs AND Crash.
They sit proudly in my DVD collection.

Both films speak to the human spirit; to the potential for good in all of us.
And I love 'em for that.

....

Can't think of a film that I truly hate, but 'action' movies of the Michael Bay kind, pretty much suck as far as I'm concerned.

easily the phantom menace. i've seen a lot of bad movies, but it would have to be something i was actually kind of emotionally invested in since childhood to get at all worked up about it.

I liked all the prequels after their initial releases, and then only later did I gradually realize the truth.

QFT. Both movies border on being works of genius.

I don't hate it, but I think it's wildly overrated.

The Matrix was a more overrated, overhyped excuse for special effects than any SW movie.

My girlfriend on Equilibrium: "This movie works on a meta-level as a self-parody, a story about a society with no original ideas made as movie with no original ideas as an ironic statement."

Equilibrium is terrible. The action scenes are comically inept, the dialogue is terrible, the acting is an atrocity, and the whole thing is basically a string of cliches strung together with a sense of self-congratulatory pomposity that is absolutely mind-blowing. It's the kind of movie that a pretentious 14-year-old would make, given a big enough budget. It's beyond MST3K worthy and almost glorious in its terribleness.

Requiem for a Dream is basically the same situation. It kind of works in the beginning, but it rapidly descends into what can only be described as unintentional farce. Ludicrous on every level. Cheesy, overblown self-important melodrama. Another movie that works on the level of a particularly dim 14-year-old.

-------------

Also, Moulin Rouge gets points for effort and a bold concept, but ends up not working. It's an admirable failure, which is better than being safe and dull.
