Wasn't there one poll that said if the number of people who said they would have voted for Perot if they thought he had a chance of winning could have been a winning margin for him?

I'm writing in George W. Bush for President in 2008.

And for anyone who says he can't serve another term, I say this:

Half of America doesn't believe he was elected to two terms in the first place, thus making him eligible to run;
and to the other half, you know it's who you want anyways, the Constitution never seemed to be an impediment the last 8 years tongue

Say it with me, Nation!

"Four more years! Four more years!"

I always thought it would be funny if the Bush administration tried to argue that they are not term limited because they didn't actually win the election in 2000. That would be LOL. I bet you if Bush had higher numbers, they would have tried.

Hey, Dick Cheney could always make the arguement that since his office is outside the bounds of both the executive and legislative branches, he has no term limit or expiration and declare himself VP 4 LIFE baby! grin

It's less about how many times you get elected, and more about how long you are president, though, right? If you're promoted from VP with 3 1/2 years left, that counts as one term, even though you weren't elected to the office.

I know you guys are joking, but I just thought I'd throw that out there anyways.

In that case, he can just argue that he hasn't really been running the country for the last 8 years, and ask for a re-do. tongue

Because it's not. Because there's a timetable that we're all aware of that hasn't yet run it's course.

Or have I missed your point? Should I be congratulating you on your heroic world-weariness?

lol. Your answer is obviously wrong, and I don't know who you were trying to impress with your sarcastic retort.

The timetable is irrelevant. Hillary should have backed down by now. That is the only thing keeping this going. I am, however, more upset at the Superdelegates' unwillingness to prove they have any sort of testicular fortitude by doing the right thing and publicly ending this.
