Hagee is a pastor who McCain actively sought the endorsement of and who McCain has said that he's glad to have his endorsement. He's the one that said the stuff about Katrina and Catholics.
Spiritual advisor? Anyway, I doubt it that people who are going to vote for McCain, like me, care if McCain's "spiritual advisor" made anti-Islam sentiments. I find Wright's Anti-American comments worse than Parsley's anti-Islam comments. Just like Muslim's will find Parlsey's comments worse than Wright's comments. Do you actually think that any Obama supporter cares about the comment's that Wright made?
And McCain has not sought out an endorsement from Hagee.

Sorry Jabba-wocky, but the JCC is a no-fact-zone.

McCain got some bad advice. Boy, he would've been smart to just let Rev. Wright go. Now he's going to poke the tiger and the spotlight is going to come around on him. How stupid was this?

Oh and McCain was also a member of Hagee's church for 30 years.

Yes, clearly it's worse to end a thirty year friendship on principle when that friend says awful things and calls your a liar than to find a complete stranger who says awful things on a regular basis, and to make a point of associating yourself with him and his views by actively seeking out his approval.
Oh, wait.

Oh please, Jabba. Obama's decision to sever ties with Wright was a purely political one. As was McCain's decision to seek out the endorsements that he has. You can choose to approve or disapprove of those decisions all day long, but your characterization of their respective motives smacks of bias. Come on.
Edit: Well that didn't make sense at first.

Doesn't matter. The press will talk about it just like we're talking about it now. You think the press is going to screen things and say, "Well, this is a little unfair and we might be comparing apples and oranges here so we probably shouldn't air it." Na, they won't say that. What McCain has done is practically beg for the spotlight to turn on him. He's already too associated with Bush and now he's going to be associated with a guy who said New Orleans got what they deserved. Oh boy, what a stupid move. There's just no logic to it. The entire press has been nice to McCain during this Democrat nomination process and the honeymoon is about to be over and he's already kicking the ant hill. I just can't believe he's doing it.
Also, just for laughs. It's a section from Meet the Press:

Personally, I find it kind of disconcerting that so many of the people who are all up in arms about Reverend Wright's comments are willing to let anti-Islam and anti-gay comments slide.
Not surprising, but disconcerting. And a sign of how racism and homophobism is a pretty prevailant issue in this country.

I blame Hagee and the evangelicals.

Souderwan, yes, clearly, it was exaggerated to make my point. But it's far less spin than Lassic's offering. And, whatever other considerations entered in, I don't see how you'd imagine that calling someone a liar would not be personally offensive.

Oh, wait.
What a coincidence that after all these years that Obama broke ties with Wright when he is running for President.

Obama broke ties with Wright because Wright was purposefully trying to ruin his campaign.

Just wait until it becomes a Page A story. McCain's been ignored too long and once the focus is back on him, everyone will hear about it and now we got ourselves a race. Because Obama has already been through the Wright stuff, he has a significant advantage.

So both candidates' pastors/spiritual advisers made controversial statements that could be considered offensive and divisive. I really think from this point on, it would be disgustingly hypocritical for either candidate or his supporters to bring up the statements. And I'm an Obama supporter. Rev. Wright's sermons really disturbed me, and I was relieved when Sen. Obama finally rejected the Rev. and called him "divisive." I think Sen. McCain would maybe say the same about Parsley and I think a lot of his supporters would feel the same relief I felt. End of "controversy/scandal."
