John Edwards endorsing Obama=one more nail in Hillary's fastly closing coffin.
Al Gore endorsing him would bury her alive...

Yeah, it's Edwards, and I'm not sure it's too big of a deal.

I always liked Edwards. I don't get how Hillary Clinton was more popular than him in the early primaries. I wouldn't have minded if the contest had come down to Obama and Edwards, which would mean I'd be happy with whoever the winner was. In 2004, Edwards was 500 times better than John Kerry. They should have reversed positions in that ticket.
Anyway, Edwards endorsing Obama might not be the biggest thing ever, but it is yet another defeat for Clinton.

My ideal ticket is still Edwards/Obama, and I'm very sad that it won't happen.

I really think Edwards' endorsement doesn't really bring anything to the table. Edwards has the same razor thin resume that Obama has. Edwards is also more liberal than Obama is, if you can believe that. So Edwards is not going to attract moderate undeciders. Obama already has the liberal vote. Maybe Edwards should have endorsed Obama before West Virginia's primary. It might have helped him out a little with the rural white vote.
And when did Gore become so popular with the Democratic voters? Is it because Bill Clinton is not popular anymore and Gore is next in line to be crowned King of the Democrats? I don't doubt that Gore is the new flavor for the Democrats. I'm just curious as to when did he achieve this.

Edward's endorsement will matter: it won't affect anyone's voting, but it will convince the media and remaining superdelegates that Obama is inevitable.

John Edwards won't sway an undecided voter going to vote in Kentucky, Oregon, South Dakota, Montana, or Puerto Rico. Yet, it sends the message that the election is over. Despite the elaborate Clintonian spin in last nights speech, the numbers have decided the contest. It is logistically near impossible for Clinton to secure the nomination. It sends a message to Gore, Pelosi, Reid, Biden, and all of the other superdelegates.
It is time for Democrats to come home again.

I disagree that he won't have an impact in Kentucky. Some blue collar Edwards voters who are now supporting Hillary or who are undecided may take their candidate endorsing Obama as a sign that if Edwards has faith in him, I can have faith in him too.

Why? Edwards is anything but blue-collared. He lives in a $3 million mansion and he gets $400 hair cuts.
An endorsement doesn't really sway voters, only the most undecided of the undecided. Do you think Hillary would be winning against Obama right now if Gore and Edwards had endorsed Hillary from day one? Probably not.

Edwards couldn't even carry his homestate of South Carolina. His electoral strength in a state like Kentucky is rather insignificant. The important part is the media attention, the momentum, and the perception that Obama is cruising to Denver.

And Edwards couldn't even get a single southern state for Kerry in 2004. Kerry should have picked Dick Gephardt. You had Kerry, a north eastern elitist and Edwards, a south eastern elitist on the same ticket.

How are they elitist? If you're calling everyone who is rich an elitist, name me a politician who isn't one.
Elitism has connotations of arrogance, of looking down on others, of being snobbish. It isn't just being wealthy.

And is it bad for politicians to be elitist?
They generally have more schooling, more of an eduction, and more money than the average citizen. Wouldn't they just be wrong if they weren't elitist?

That's a funny picture but doesn't really have anything to do with elitism.
