Matthews seems to be a moderate, but he also generally seems to take a "I want to watch what happens" view instead of a "I'm invested and want a specific outcome" view.

I'm suddenly reminded about the time Stewart went on Crossfire.

Jello, that's got to be one of my favorite youtube clips ever.

And EBB, really? You don't put them all on the same level? I find them all ridiculous and illegitimate news sources.

.

Fox is a biased source of conservative talking points. MSNBC and CNN at least attempt to look at thinks legitimately.

I don't find them ridiculous...and I'm not really sure why one would. Its just fun news analysis.

Perhaps if you explained yourself more I could understand.

Did anyone catch Scarborough's interview with Mike Huckabee where Huckabee was defending Jeremiah Wright. Scarborough concluded it with an anecdote about some black people who wanted Reagan to die after his assassination attempt in 1980, purportedly to illustrate his recognition of their resentment, but it seemed like he really just wanted to take a cheap shot at black people. I was also unimpressed with him on his appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher this season, as his response to any facts that didn't fit his opinion was "whatever". I also saw him get all huffed when Rachel Maddow started pointing out a bunch of McCain's recent flip flops, at which point he just started yelling over her and then walked off the set. I don't really like the guy at all.

To me, it basically comes down to the idea that CNN, Fox, et. al. are more interested in providing entertainment and getting high ratings than analyzing the news. They purposefully feed into and perpetuate the silly, mindless hot topic debates (see Hardball and Crossfire) that don't accomplish anything except profits for the political parties. It's just so...gimmicky. This goes far beyond their obvious biases...into the realm of what they are doing. Are they providing real, level headed, rational news analysis? Or are they stoking a fire of mindless "left vs. right blah blah blah" that has nothing to do with what's actually happening, or how we can fix these problems, so they can get ratings? Whenever I watch MSNBC or CNN or Faux News, I find it's almost always the second.

There's a stark difference between NPR, PBS, etc. and CNN, even though they pretty much have the same liberal bias.

I watch all three of the cable news channels (Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN). You have your far right and far left people on all the stations. I don't really like O'Reilly's show. I don't even think he's that conservative. But he's equally confrontational with all of his guests, which gets old after awhile. Keith Olbermann of MSNBC and Jack Cafferty of CNN have to be the two most liberal out of anyone on the cable news channels. I like the Hannity and Colmes Show. I don't know why people don't like the show. Fox News is not trying to hide the fact that Hannity is a conservative and Colmes is a liberal. One of my favorite political shows is Hardball with Chris Matthews. He's more of a moderate than all the people I named above. He said a few times that he is a Reagan Democrat.

I watch a bit of all 3 networks as well, though just a little bit more of MSNBC (for Countdown) than the others.

I like Morning Joe and Chris Matthews on MSNBC.

Are you guys hearing the Democrats who are crying foul in regards to Bush's speech to Israel? If you read it they have a point. He obviously attacks Obama and it's absurd to do it in a speech to Israel. He points the finger to everyone else but myself and his ego is so big he fails to see all the Republicans who are detaching themselves from him. Bush has become "radioactive" as they say in political terms. You can't go near him. Of course the White House denies that the comments were meant to be a negative commentary on anyone. The White House has gotten really good at denying things.

Did he specfically mention Obama in this speech, or is this something being taken out of context?
