By the time McCain picks his VP candidate, it will be November 15th.

Obama reserves the right to say "no", which I think is what's going to happen. There is nothing she can say or do to force him. He can gamble that enough Clinton supporters will ultimately vote for him anyway.

Obama should say "no" to Hillary. Hillary would hurt Obama as his VP. But if Obama does say "no" then she could make things more difficult for him. Hillary does have a huge following, both with voters and with high powered Democratic officials.

Yeah, lets pick the guy who lost as VP in 2004, and tanked in the Primaries!

The backlash would be severe for her if she is seen as harming Obama's chances in any way. She still has a career in the Senate, and possibly as a presidential candidate in the future, unless she destroys it.

I wouldn't put it passed her. You know that Hillary out on the trail on TV will be supporting Obama. But secretly, deep down, she wants McCain to crush Obama like Reagan did with Mondale. In private she wants McCain to win so she can run again in 2012.

At any rate, its not for her to offer/demand to be VP, and its not for Obama to turn down any such offer. As the nominee, its for Obama to chose the VP candidate, and for said person to accept or decline.
That said, some have suggested that she wants him to offer it to her, just so she can tell him to go to hell.

By my estimation, Edwards was the third foremost runner.

Of course he was, but he still dropped out fairly early because he saw no chance of winning.

Am I the only one who thought it was weird for MSNBC to cut away in the middle of McCain's speech, to announce Obama's presumptive nomination, and never cut back?
