In honesty I don't know a whole lot of details of Colin Powel's ideas, but I'd wager a McCain/Powell ticket would probably be pretty strong.

While that would pretty much give me a poligasm, I don't see that happening. He was pretty adamant about not running for President a few years back and he seems drawn to Obama. I suspect he'll just stay out of it and watch.

But he also likes McCain, and running for Vice President isn't the same as running for President... just some thoughts, but I really can't claim any authority to them.

I've learned not to hope in politics. I always end up having them dashed.

Obama has been cleaning house lately. Here's to hoping this trend continues all the way to the convention.

Obama is going to sweep February. Clinton is playing at a comeback on March 4th in Ohio and Texas ... and possibly Rhode Island.

Also, McCain is such a boring speaker. The Clinton speech was loud with the crowd, the Obama speech was loud with the crowd and then you switch to McCain where he talks low and the crowd sounds like death. He really is the worst speaker out of the group.

I'm sorry, what was that? I feel asleep during McCain's speech. What time is it?

Agreed. He's definitely going to need to work on that.

Ann Coulter is running for President as a Democrat now? Man, he/she must really hate McCain.

McCain is a kind of boring speaker. But he does still have more substance and experience to back up his words than any of the other candidates. I guess that would go back to ophelia's point about being a good speaker not being the main quality... it's helpful, but it's not the main point.

Obama still gives great speeches, though tongue

By a very nice margin, again, it looks like.

I'm hoping that Obama's many victories this month give him enough of a momentum boost to compete well with Clinton in Texas and Ohio. If he wins those, he's got it, I'd say.

It was a nice victory for Obama tonight. However, you can't really predict what will happen next month going by an open primary state like Virginia. That's why I hate open primaries. It can be a false indicator on how people really voted.

Many Republican voters hate the Clintons and McCain was guaranteed a victory in Virginia. You don't know tonight if McCain Republican supporters voted for Obama just to screw Hillary. The open primary format also helped out Obama with independents. Most independents voted for Obama over Hillary. If it were a closed primary, registered independents wouldn't be able to vote.

The endorsements of Al Gore and John Edwards could have major implications for the Democratic nomination, obviously. The endorsement of Edwards would be a major boost for Clinton in NC and could narrow the lead Obama is showing in the state already.

I never understood why some undecided voters needed help from endorsements. I don't understand undecided voters in general though. People should be able to make up their own minds without needing to wait for someone to endorse a candidate.

That's why it would be a lot better to have a national one day closed Primary Election for all states on the same day. Every voter will vote their conscience without having to wait for endorsements. This will also help end the band wagon and copy cat voters who vote for a candidate just because a candidate wins the first few primaries like Iowa, New Hampshire, Michigan, and South Carolina.

Yeah, we've been saying it since New Hampshire: Hillary loves closed primaries.
