Pujols will be back Thursday.
Btw.
St. Louis- 10 W.S. Championships
CUBS- 1 in the last 100 years.
The CARDS will continue to get healthy. The CUBS have been healthy and playing sub-par teams.

Without a table format, these are extremely annoying to read..
And I think the Cubs are more likely to hang around in the long run this year than the Cards are.

You know, you sound like all those idiot Yankees fans who can't help pointing out that the Yankees have won a bazillion titles. Guess what - what happened in the past doesn't matter anymore. Those ten titles ain't gonna help you win **** this year.
And if you seriously think that the Cards are going anywhere this year, Pujols or no Pujols, you're on crack.

Jedi Hood,
I would love to tell you what you sound like but there is a TOS. 2006 wasn't that long ago. And I never said anything if you bothered to read the posts about the CARDS winning it all. I was making fun of the CUBS. Then he bashed the CARDS. Also, the question was asked when would Pujols be back and I aswered.
Kinda find it funny how you think the CARDS are so bad but yet they are only 3.5 back of the CUBS and have a better record than the other 2 NL division leaders. They lead the WC as it stands.

Dear Felix Hernandez,
Thank you so much for making yesterday's game awesome. Even though you left the game early, your opposite field grand slam hit off of Johan Santana was the best moment of this dark 2008 season. Thank you, Felix, for being awesome.
All Hail King Felix!
Love,
Lane

Only 3.5 back? And that's after you guys won and we lost today. Clearly you're smoking something good if you think the Cards are better the Cubs this year.
Oh and BTW, Cubs are leading the whole D*** MLB right now, in case you didn't know.

You're missing the point. The CUBS have been HEALTHY and playing SUB-PAR teams. The CARDS have been injured and playing a very difficult schedule. When the CARDS get their players back like Pujols, Carpenter, Wainwright and Wellemeyer....they are only gonna get better. The CARDS pitching is great this year. They have 2 pitchers Looper and Loshe who have as good or better records than Zambrano or Dempster. So, maybe you should smoke something along w/Jedi Hood if you think the CARDS are going anywhere. Remember, the CARDS and CUBS still have 12 more head to head games.

In case you didn't notice we just lost Zambrano for 15 days and Soriano for a second time. And I wouldn't exactly call the White Sox sub-par (whom we just swept this weekend).

Go back to Minnesota where you can pitch in anonymity, Blowhan. I want Carlos Gomez back.
And all of Seattle was dumbfounded.
Our now injured PITCHER has a better batting average than some players. Just...
And our win today was another .
We're go going to lose big next. That's how it usually happens. But thank you, Mariners, for a small, bright glimmer of hope.

Jedi Hood.
Darth,
The CUBS may have swept the White Sox who are leading their division but the CARDS who are in second place in the central are 5 games better than them in the win bracket. And the CARDS just went to Fenway and took 2 out of 3 from the RS w/an injured team.

What's insane to me is the fact that the top three teams, record wise, in the National League are in the NL Central. All three (Cubs, Cardinals and Brewers) could be division leaders at this point. And this from a supposedly subpar division...
Anyway, good news for us Cardinals fans in that barring bad weather, there's a fairly good chance Pujols will be back in the lineup Thursday in Detroit. It's immeasurable what he brings to the team by simply being in the lineup. As evidenced by Ryan Ludwick's very good season thus far, it's obvious that he can bring out the best in those around him.

When Pujols, Carpenter, Wainwright, and Wellemeyer come back, just how much better will the team be? And if they make some awesome trades before the deadline?.........
I've given up on Mulder. He's only 30 and if he was healthy he could have some descent years left in the MLB but IMO the CARDS need to let him go. If it were up to me I'd trade Mulder, Reyes, Villone, Izturis, and Chris Duncan. Yes Chris Duncan. There's no doubt if he ever gets things going he will be a 40 home run guy, but being in the Cardinal system and his father being one of the managers, I'm not really sure he can produce. I really think he needs to go to another team to live up to his potential. Lets face it. He's not an outfielder. They tried for 2 years and it's not worked. And he damn near cost the CARDS game 5 in the 2006 WS w/his 2 errors. He's a first-basemen, but w/Pujols being the franchise player, and coming back this week from the DL it doesn't really leave alot of options for Chris.

The Good: Delwyn Young's solo homer in the 5th accounting for the only Dodger run last night.
The Bad: Lowe having a schizo start (7 1/3, 9 hits, 5 ER, 8 K's-1 run allowed in the first two innings, then he pitches good until the start of the 8th in which he gives up 3 more runs, putting the Dodgers out of the game.
The Ugly: The "offense" (1 run, 6 hits), losing the opening game of the series against the White Sox, falling to 2-8 so far in interleague play, failure to gain ground on Arizona.
