I woulda figured AmazingB sported the orange and blue back then.

I did orange and blue to start that season, but the colors are kind of blinding.

Amazing.

I firmly believe that a win is a win no matter how it happens.

I keep telling myself this in order to maintain my sanity.

The Mets should tip their cap to HOK Sport and associate architects for designing such a nice park for these kind of semi-comebacks. I will not give the Phillies any 'grit' or credit for this because Citizens' Bank Bandbox is Coors East (and Camden North) and Ryan Howard was given a gift by incompetent umpires. That said, Billy Wagner is absolutely shot.

That said, Billy Wagner is absolutely shot.

He's still throwing 97 and striking guys out, so I'm willing to chalk it up to bad luck.

Pedro, on the other hand, is beyond shot.

Amazing.

What's funny about both pitchers is that they have velocity but are still struggling. And Wagner looked good against the lefty strikeout machine Howard, but there was plenty of solid, two-strike contact by Werth and Feliz the past two days as well as the season. I can attribute some of Wagner's six (!) blown saves to luck, but he's been very hittable recently, and is giving up homers at a bad rate too.

**** it, the recaps are going to continue. I enjoy doing them too much, and I've capitulated enough already this year to people on the net (ie: in shaving off the neckbeard).

The Good: Kuroda pitching one hell of a great game (CG, 0 ER/runs, 6 K's, 1 hit-took a perfect game into the 8th inning, and only faced one batter above the minimum to reach perfection), Nomarrrrrrrrrrrrr's 2-run home run in the 5th inning, Kemp going 1-4 with an RBI (though he was thrown out via pickle from 1st to 2nd while getting the RBI), Dodgers moving into a tie for first place with Arizona (they were off tonight).

The Bad: NONE!

The Ugly: NONE!

But don't worry Cardinals fans, Mark Mulder is back in the starting rotation! plain

I thought he might be on the way back, but his last time out of the bullpen was not good at all. And of course, we get the usual rhetoric of "Well Carpenter and Wainwright will be back soon!" which we've heard variations of since the start of last season. Mozeliak needs to do SOMETHING, if they intend to compete seriously this season. *Frustrated*

I think Dave Duncan can turn only so many pumpkins into aces. But I'm sure the Cardinals will try to get a low-level starter for cheap so Duncan can work his magic.

What's with the Cubs and attracting brilliant yet injury prone pitchers? Well, half a Harden is better than all of Jason Marquis.

And man was it sweet seeing Mad Dog's boy Lincecum get roughed around at Shea in person.

I doubt they even get a starter, the management line seems to be "We have the utmost faith that Mulder/Carpenter/Wainwright are almost back 100%". I find that a bit naive myself, but what can I do about it? tongue

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they swing a deal for a left handed reliever though.

Tunick: I like your G/B/U. It would, of course, be easier to read if it was a different color...

I like that Harden trade. Not that the Cubbies got hosed or anything, but I think Oakland made a real killing. Those four young guys are good.
