I just assumed he got as annoyed with Willie as I was and pushed her off a cliff or something on the ride home. Kinda like the theory that the Imperials sent Senator Jar Jar on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan a few days before ANH.

There were enough moments of comic relief that Mac would not have been missed.

Here is my post again, hopefully made so you can understand it without the need of the context of your post that I had quoted and was directly referring to.
If they didn't explain/reference WILLIE AND SHORT ROUND (for they were the point of your question) in Crusade (or Raiders, set after Temple as it was  ), why on earth would they feel the need to explain/reference WILLIE AND SHORT ROUND 20 years later in KOCS?

I will try and guess at what you mean here. They explained what had happened to Marion because... she was part of the KOCS movie and relevant to the plot due to Mutt's upbringing.
If that still doesn't address your point, then I have no idea what your comments actually were supposed to mean. Which wouldn't be the first time.

Umm, Short Round rocks. As do Sallah, Marcus, Henry Sr., Marion, (to a lesser extent) Ox, and while it lasted, Elsa and Satipo.
But yeah, the other (two) sidekicks were annoying.
