Stover: “I want to make this clear: I have no personal agenda as I would hope everyone else would as well. I only want what is best for the union and our teammates and my intentions are to establish a healthy leadership for years to come. I was on that conference call and I’m not the only rep who listened and felt that it is time for a change.”
He wanted it to get leaked. He's writing like he's expecting everyone to read it.

Given the reaction so far, I would say it backfired on him.

The Source is a wrestling announcer so take for what its worth, but apparently Jeremy Shockey thinks he'll be traded to the Saints. The Saints offered a 2nd round pick earlier this offseason, but the Giants asked for starting safety Roman Harper too and New Orleans turned them down. Could we see Shockey traded on draft day?
Another rumored deal involving the Saints is trading with the Eagles for CB Lito Sheppard. The deal would involve New Orleans moving back to #19 in the first round and giving the Eagles the #10 pick. The Eagles are rumored to covet one of the top OT in the draft.

Sorry, I noticed you were still posting in the other thread and said to myself "Gee I wonder why he's not using the new thread" but never pointed it out.
Hmm...I like Shockey, but I don't think he fits with the Giants so a move is probably a good thing for him.

No biggie.
On Shockey, I'm just worried that we give up too much for him and he hasn't exactly been the greatest team player. I know that being around Drew Brees will help him mature, but the potential move still worries me. I do think his days with the Giants are coming to an end soon though.

posted: 24. Oakland Raiders (4-12) – DeAngelo Hall and Nnamdi Asomugha give the Raiders a nice veteran tandem at cornerback, and Gibril Wilson should be a serviceable safety. But all eyes are on JaMarcus Russell, who should like Drew Carter as a deep threat.
No mention of Lane Kiffin here? Interesting, since he is the head coach and Al Davis did try to get him to quit. The Raiders is the very definition of a dysfunctional family football team. Too much infighting from the front office to the coaches. I mean, Kiffin wanted to fire defensive coach Rob Ryan, but Davis kept him. What the???
posted: 28. San Francisco 49ers (5-11) – If Alex Smith is healthy (and that’s a titanic “if”), Mike Martz should be able to get some mileage out of this offense. Particularly with the additions of Bryant Johnson and Isaac Bruce. But when is Mike Nolan’s defense going to turn a corner?
Alex Smith may not even be the starting QB. Shawn Hill was impressive in that role at the end of last season and will be pushing for the job during training camp. Nolan's defense has turned the corner, but the problem is their offense as they usually go 3 and out. The defense just spends too much time on the field. The question for the Niners is, whether or not Frank Gore will be able to get on track again. It will be interesting to see how my yards he gets on the ground with the pass happy Martz calling the plays. Gore is a premiere RB that can wear down a defense. So the question really is, when is the Niners' offense going to turn the corner?
The Bears screwed the Niners in this year's draft.

I'm not terribly excited about the Lions this year...not that any given year's preseason has any GREAT expectations, but with the loss of Shaun Rogers and no real discernable improvement to the offensive line...I just can't get the usual preseason nonsensical feeling of hope to emerge.

NFL schedule comes out today, but rumors/leaks are already coming out.
Rumors:
-Browns at Eagles Thanksgiving night (NFLN)
-Bears and Packers on Monday Night in December
-Saints get two home games to open season (Carolina then Tampa Bay) after starting the year on the road for first 2 weeks the past two seasons
-Saints at Bears on Thursday Night in December (NFLN)
-Saints get two home MNF appearances: vs Vikings and Packers
Of course I have more Saints rumors b/c those are the message boards I visit.
