I have a friend who in almost 2 years I have never heard saying my name. He assured me he can pronounce it properly, because there's football players and such with the same name, but he never actually said it in my presence. He must have said it when my mom answered the phone and he asked for me, but that doesn't reach me.

^That is odd.
At one of the local restaurants here there is a girl who says, "Have a nice day, Miss So-an-so" by reading off of the card. It creeps me out because then I think it is one of my students and I should recognize her.

I don't often think to actually use people's names, except as part of ritualistic joke greetings where we say our entire names in a deep rumbly voice.
