Can FOX please, please, PLEASE cancel The Simpsons now?

I read that this past Sunday's episode was the lowest-rated episode in the series' history. I guess airing an episode about a mother dying on Mother's Day will do that.
Come on, FOX. You got Family Guy, American Dad, and the upcoming Cleveland Show, and to a lesser extent, King of the Hill, so you have nothing to lose by cutting the animated chaff that is The Simpsons in its present form.
I gave up watching a long time ago, clearly for the sake of my own sanity. But still, it astounds me that this show is still on the air. It premiered when I was in the seventh grade, and I'm now 31. No TV show should be on as long as The Simpsons has.

Family Guy gets like a million more viewers and American Dad had almost the same rating as The Simpsons did on that night.
Also, it wasn't this past Sunday. It was the week before.
Edit: Nevermind. The episode before was the lowest-rated but yeah now it's not. But I was referring to that one with my first comment.

Think of it like trial juries. Theoretically they're comprised of your peers; but really they're just comprised of those who feel like doing it or have nothing better to do.

I haven't watched the show since season 9 or 10. I started watching it during it's 2nd year. First episode I ever saw was either Dancing Homer or Bart VS Thanksgving, when they first aired. I remember we weren't even allowed to wear simpsons shirts to school, pretty tame compared to stuff now, but back then it was a big deal.
they probably should of ended it after season 10 or 11.
