Amusingly enough, if you were addressing two people both named Haus, then you could actually use "O HAI" in real Latin.

Anyone else learn Latin from the Cambridge books? The ones with Caecilius and his family in Pompeii? I seriously had to go out and buy one of those books they were so much fun.

Actually, O HAE is pronounced similarly, and HAE is the vocative of HAVS, right?

Well, the problem is that it's a contrived word and wouldn't really exist like that. In theory the vocative would be Hae, but the problem is that it couldn't exist that way because it'd create a diphthong where there shouldn't be.
Whereas the plural at least has the complete visual match going for it.

I did! Except it stopped being fun halfway through the third year when the story stops and they book instead reprints stuff written by Pliny and Virgil and stuff.
My favorite story will always be Cerberus. It was great, I remember it featured such great lines as "The dog barks" and "Cerberus goes out."
