Making fun of an Alzheimer's victim is about as low as I feel like going tonight, and only because this particular Alzheimer's victim was responsible for a lot of bad stuff.

Katana_Geldar posted: Who will likely be Obama's running mate? I was just talking this over with a few Aussie MPs and I had to remind one of them when the Democrat convention is.
Evan Bayh and Tim Kaine are duller than Gore and Kerry. Bayh is also way more moderate than Obama is. However, Kaine is not a terrible choice. Obama needs to win Virginia. Kaine, being governor of Virginia could carry the state for Obama. Also Bayh was a strong Hillary supporter early on, while Kaine endorsed Obama very early on.
Sam Nunn is also a good choice. He could cancel out McCain's experience factor and also could bring the Republican controlled south into play.
Jim Webb, also of Virginia, might have made a good choice as well. However, like Obama, Webb doesn't have the experience that Sam Nunn has. Also, Obama and Webb are both U.S. Senators which would have looked too much inside Washington and not the kind of change Obama is promising.

***damn you LIEberman
MSNBC posted: ASHINGTON - Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic Party's vice presidential candidate in 2000 and now an independent who is one of John McCain's strongest supporters, will speak at the Republican National Convention, an official said.
Lieberman will deliver a speech when Republicans gather in St. Paul, Minn., to nominate McCain for president, a party official told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The official requested anonymity because a formal announcement had yet to be made.

I wonder what kind of stories will be aired regarding the final 9/11 of Bush's presidency?

So, KnightWriter, if Lieberman showed up at your doorstep and wanted to shake your hand and talk to you, how would you respond?

Please do not use his speech as a drinking game, by drinking every time 9/11 is mentioned. You will die of alcohol poisoning.
I'm actually stunned at this choice by the GOP. I mean, shocked. First, Giuliani was popular 4 years ago, and is largely unpopular now after exploiting a tragedy. Second, he's pro-life and the last thing McCain needs to do is anger the religious right. Third, the keynote address is usually reserved for up and coming politicians to catapult them to the national level. Giuliani does not fit this category.

The latest political buzz going around is that Obama's VP will be Senator Joe Biden. Very interesting considering that Biden voted for the war in Iraq. Still this pick will give the much needed foreign relations experience Obama needs.
Some people yesterday said that Hillary will be picked since the polls between Obama and McCain are so close. But I don't see that happening.

Every morning I wake up hoping to have a text message on my phone from Barack, announcing his new VP...and every morning it's not there and I am sad.
