Anything less than 3 feet away is going to come out looking a bit off.
Most cameras have a macro setting, though.
Is there a button that has like a flower and a mountain on it? Try pressing it so that it's the flower and not the mountain.

His birthday is 9/13. You could have his day then.
Also, while Sonic may not be able to swim, I have not met an actual hedgehog who lacked this ability. They are forced to uncurl if you put them in water, though, since the ball position would put their nose and mouth underneath any water deeper than about 5 millimeters. So if you were a predator who felt like biting a hedgehog's soft underbelly, rolling it in water would be a good plan. I think that's where the "hedgehogs' greatest vulnerability is water" thing came from.
Indiana actually loves water, and will cheerfully swim around in it if you give him a place to do it . . . and something to climb up on when he gets sick of paddling around.
And yes, my camera does have a little picture of a flower on it, now that you mention it, Dani. I should really figure out what that is and how to use it before I try to take pictures of small things again.
Eidt: I think he is feeling better. He's been eating more and gaining weight, which isn't great in itself, since he was kinda chunky to begin with, but it does show that his appetite is improving.
I won't know if the antibiotic is clearing up all the problems for another few days, though.

I nominate The Official Indiana The Hedgehog Thread as the JC Thread of the Year. I also move that the Indiana The Hedgehog be included in the JC banner.

If only I'd known how to use the close-up focus on my camera. At least I think that's what this is. I'd post a picture of the button and ask, but I can't, for obvious reasons.
And Indiana is iffy.
The vet says that his white blood cell count is still too high, and it seems like he has an infection of some kind.
I'm supposed to change antibiotics, and attempt to feed him this antioxidant stuff that's just generally supposed to be good for you.
She's actually worried that he might have a tumor (AND JUST DON'T SAY ANYTHING, DR. HOUSE! DO NOT SAY WHAT IT IS NOT! SHH! STUFF IT! SHUT UP!!!). I guess the antioxidants are for the possibility of cancer. The bizarre thing about them is that there is no particular dose for them. I just crumble the pill into bits and get him to eat "a small amount."
It actually says "a small amount" on the bottle.
Welcome to the world of veterinary homeopathy.
He drinks a really ridiculous amount of water these days, too, so I tried giving him 1/2 water, 1/2 Pedialyte, so he doesn't die like the "Hold your wee for a Wii" lady. I have yet to see if he's willing to drink it.
His personality is unchanged, however . . . maybe a bit crankier than usual, but then, I've been forcibly giving him medicine through a little syringe for over a week now. He does not appreciate this.
