VadersLaMent posted: Give me something I may not have heard of. I like Metallica, Korn, Alice In Chains, Manson. Give me something heavy, introduce me.
How heavy are you willing to go? Go for most any Death Metal band. There's a lot of them out there that people don't know about. Same with Doom Metal and Black Metal. I won't go into all the bands because even though I do listen to some Death and Black it's not enough to list bands.

I sampled via Youtube and liked those suggestions but nothing totally thrilled me. Dissection had actual rythm and harmony in all of that I will say, and I could kinda make out the words.

Try some Opeth. Progressive Death Metal, plus the growls are remarkably understandable

If you kinda dig Dissection, try their album Reinkaos. It's not their best, but it's more accessible, I think, than their older stuff.
And it seems to me since your starting out, try some of the thrash bands like Slayer, Testament, and Megadeth, since you like Metallica.

Ha, I remember the times where a whole thread was dedicated to the Cradle of Filth. And it did have tons of pages at that.
Draconian... I remember hearing their song not long ago in a pub (a pub-like metal place actually). My friends told me the name of the band. It's not bad.

hello, whats going on??? i see you are talking about metal and its awesome music eh? I personally like In Flames, sure any death metal heavy metal with some distortion and some clean vocals and growling vocals can be annoying but I usually stick to a band and listen to it alot. i also like the bands: Some of Cradle of Filth - i actually have like four or five of their albums but i haven't listened to them much so - The Agonist, Kalmah, Kataklysm, Mercenary, Trivium, Nightwish, Amon Amarth, Korpiklanni, Lacona Coil, Leaves Eyes, Pain, and so forth. I tend to like music with clean vocals and some chord guitar too, like how In Flames can do some melodical stuff to the rhythm guitar and have some a little bit of growling/screaming/clean vocals.
I also like other music like techno, some of dance and anything with a catchy tune and nice music!!
I used to love rammstein btw, I possibly still like them but haven't listened to them much though...

could someone do me a huge favour and get me a copy of Metal Hammer with a free 'battle pack' or whatever it's called? It's only available in some WH Smiths and I don't live near any of them.
