X-Status - 7/2 - Still alive. Barely. So the premise of "Dreamland" parts one and deuce are simple enough; Mulder and an agent of the Men in Black swap bodies. Gee, that's a new one, aside for the fact that I assumed that plot device was old even before this episode aired. We still see David Duchovny as Morris Fletcher, except when it's his reflection or something (paging Dr. Sam Becket, anyone?). Needless to say, hilarity ensues, but that won't stop me from teeing off on how tired the whole premise is. And worst of all, they just pull out a Dues ex Machina to make everything go magically back to normal! Sorry, Dorothy, it was all just a dream. Moving on, aw, it's a Christmas episode; with ghosts, no less! Presents and bullets are exchanged, but everyone goes home happy. But next up, Bruce Campbell pops up as a baby-eating demon! Sorry, I can't make fun of this one - Bruce Campbell's bit was the only watchable part of Spider-man 3, and that's enough for me to give the man a free pass this time. To wrap it up, I watched 'The Rain King', which was half funny and half cringe-inducing. Seriously, get back to the scary stuff!

Just wait until you get to 'Arcadia'. Easily one of my favorite episodes in season 6. 'The Unnatural' and 'Three of a Kind' are also really good. (Both of the episodes written and directed by DD are just awesome!! i.e. 'Unnatural' and 'Hollywood A.D.')
Just skip 'Trevor' and 'Milagro' altogether. They are about as bad as 'Rain King'.

X-Status - 7/3 - Not dead. 'S.R. 819' had a plot worthy of a season of 24 (because it sort of was a subplot for a season of 24), Skinner is infected with a virus of nanobots and has 24 hours to live, while Mulder and Scully manage to completely fail in curing him or discovering who was behind it. Turns out to be Krycek, who spares Skinner's life at the last second. It was probably so that he could use him later, or possibly because he just thought it would be worse to let the sad sack live. Next up, Scully goes to New York to meet a guy who likes to take pictures of dead people, and who himself can't die. There's some blabbedyness about mortality and such, but Lame with a capital L. Both of them get shot (with bullets. Not shot, like 'to take a picture' shot), and Immortal Man turns out to be not so much.
The two-parter that followed it was both very strong and weak in different departments. First of all, Cigarette Smoking Man basically explains everything to us, which serves two purposes; A, now we can actually understand what's happening, and B, now we know what the hell is going on. A means there's no more of that 'I just watched this whole thing and it was awesome but I still don't understand why all this **** was happening' stuff, but B means that there's no more mystery! The problem is, I don't want to know what was happening. Once they spoon-fed me the truth, that spoiled everything. People think they want answers, but they really don't. Why do you think Lost is so popular? Second of all, well, there really isn't a second of all. Don't get me wrong, it was cool, but it was no magical mystery tour, emphasis on the 'mystery' part.
