Paris Hilton, hands down. She should be shot as a service to mankind (removing her genes from the population's genetic pool).

After surviving art school, I'm gonna have to go with The Mona Lisa.
Actually, I guess I don't see that anything isn't deserving of the fame/praise it gets. I mean, whatever it is, it's the people who are assigning that to it. I feel bad for Paris Hilton by now honestly . . . And I really do think that a lot of the hate for her comes out of jealousy.
I guess I chose the artwork because I'm the most familiar with that thing of the choices . . . So that has me at, "Meh."

Do you think there's actually anything about her to be jealous of? The only thing I can think of is her money - but since she just inherited it instead of earning it herself, it's not really an achievement to envy.
I watched some bits of "A Simple Life" or whatever that reality show of hers is called, and I was amazed how stupid and out of touch with reality she is. In fact, I couldn't believe someone could actually be this stupid while not being confined in some mental asylum; it had to be an act, I thought.
I don't hate her, but it does anger me that people like her are actually role models for young girls. As if stupidity and utter naïveté were something to admire and aspire to.

I think it does simply come down to money and fame. I think there's plenty of people without any noteworthy admirable qualities around in everyone's daily life, but they don't get talked about with such animosity. As far as being a bad role model- Don't let you children be raised by the T.V.? I don't think it's a great quality to install in children the need to **** talk on complete strangers either. :P
I don't own a t.v. so I end up hearing more people ranting about the offensiveness of Paris Hilton than any of the genuinely offensive things she's done? She's gonna be in REPO! The Genetic Opera and I'm interested in just seeing how her performance goes. I'm irritated by all the people who are considering NOT going solely because she's in it, cuz there's tons of other great people in it as well (And that kind of production will need all the support it can get, I think.) So that's why I'm a little irritated by Paris-bashing in particular these days.

Larry King. He's good at sucking up to guests to make sure they return, but half the time he barely knows anything about their story because he never does any homework on them.

Well, obviously I won't leave my potential future kids to be raised by TV, but if you think how much media and entertainment surrounds us these days, it's impossible to stay completely out of their influence, to a lesser or greater extent. Not unless you want to live in a hermit's cottage away from the civilisation - and I wouldn't want to do that, because people need to socialise. So there is going to be some influence whether you want it or not. And since today's media generally seem more concerned about popularity and money rather than quality, there is a higher chance of "bad influence".

Along with people always needing people (excepting very rare personality mutations,) I think that "bad influences" are always a constant in society. I mean, eliminate Paris Hilton from the public eye and you still have Nicole Ritchie, Brittney Spears, the eating disordered Olsen twin, Lindsay Lohan (Is she still "bad?" I don't know.) . . . I mean, there's always someone there who can fill that role because everyone else is the one putting them there. I rarely see people saying nice things about Paris Hilton so I think a child REALLY has to be detached from most of society by now to think of her as a good role model. And I do think that that would have more to do with negligent parenting than anything. If people REALLY want Paris to disappear then they should stop encouraging drama around her. :P

I don't like to spend money on things I don't really need or won't really enjoy? I get news from the internet and I can watch DVD's here. I reaaaally don't need another reason to be sitting on my ass even more during the day.

I remember a blind gossip item about Paris not letting her maids know to take care of her 20,000 dogs while on vacation. She just leaves them in the closet with no food, and sometimes the maids find dead little dogs in there.
Wonderful human being, that Paris.
