Yes, because the obligation to do right and treat people fairly is only actually an obligation to do marginally better than one of the worst countries around on the issue, not, a principle we should all be striving to meet in the abstract.

I would agree that the British police shouldn't necessarily have been expected to know in advance, or even to have double-checked before launching the campaign. But I think it's perfectly reasonable for Muslims to have complained when it did turn out to be offensive, and for the police to take steps to try and fix that in the affected communities. That's how civil society works. It's certainly not worthy of all the exasperation and eye-rolling in this thread.
Um why? that's the most point less thing ever. That majority out rules the minority. Why should ever country on earth change there culture just to please the minority. Heck I guess I should go to Japan and start getting them to change things so I won't be offended.
The world is getting why to P.C. for my taste here.

Which is why I'm getting sick of the P.C. stuff going around and getting worse. Ever country has there own culture and if I were to movie to Japan I'm in the minority. But I'm not going to go around and start telling them to change ever thing to fit my needs. That's ruining a long running culture and makes it hard for other people to learn about those country's and there people.

Ok just to make one thing clear I don't mind when people from other country's come to the US, UK, or where ever. I welcome them but what offends me is when they start trying to change that country's whole culture because they are offended by it.
Why move there if your offended by that culture and they way they do things?

Tell me in the article where it states anybody is trying to alter British culture? It sounds like some people didn't want the posters in their specific communities. Nothing is mentioned about banning them everywhere or trying to convince the rest of Britain to hate dogs. The article isn't very informative to begin with, I think a lot of people here are making a lot of assumptions.
