Radical Muslims are the enemy in the War on Terror. This is threat profiling and makes sense.
McVeigh and the Unabomber were not part of large terrorists networks and were not at risk to acquire nuclear weapons from rogue states. In fact, the very fact that we can name and recognize a couple of homegrown terrorists shows how uncommon they are. Can you name all the 9/11 terrorists without looking up their names? I doubt it.
No one wants to see innocent people harassed, but the alternative is harassing elderly white women at airports who have a zero percent chance of being a terrorist in an effort to prove how nonjudgmental and politically correct we are.

This is just yet another disgusting chapter in American history. It's happened so many times before.
First, we did awful things to the Native Americans (Thank you, Andrew Jackson  ), and enslaved the blacks. Then, we rounded the Japanese up like cattle and sent them to concentration camps. And now we're doing the same damn thing to the Arabs.
Obviously I understand that the majority of terrorists in this country are going to be Arab, but if they've done nothing wrong, why investigate them simply because of the color of their skin? It's ridiculous. Now, if they're Arab, they have hoards of firearms and other weapons, military training, and often display the American flag upside down, then I could see an investigation. Otherwise, no.

Someone should let the FBI know that Al-Qaeda etc. have been actively recruiting "Western" converts to avoid this kind of profiling for a few years now. Are the Feds trying to look slow? 
So yeah, the law isn't exactly going to promote tolerance. And will most likey end up being counter-productive.

I hate to say I told you so. Anyhoo I am not horridly worried. I do not see McCain getting the Presidency and Obama though he may not be what people seem to think he does not come across as 1984-ish. If McCain gets the Prez you can kiss your rights goodbye, slowly but surely.
