Nothing happened, though. Are there any lasting effects I should be worrying about?
Well, at least this isn't quite as dumb as the time I fried my brain with the microwave.

Dont do it again.
The microwaves warp around the metal bowl at near lightspeed, and if you continue to due so it could result in a low grade gamma burst from the oxygen molecules that are bring distorted.

Do not touch the bowl. Sometimes when a metal item is microwaved the nanofibers bonding the metal particles to one another become unstable and very fragile. A sudden movement or impact to a recently microwaved metal object could cause a "chain reaction" of sorts in which the sudden tension will cause many of the weakened nanofibers to snap instantaneously. This causes a shattering effect, and the stored energy of the microwave beams that are absorbed will force the shrapnel outwards. It's not going to kill you or anything, but there have been reported cases of people suffering minor cuts. If a piece went into your eye or something though it could necessitate a trip to the emergency room. Just do not touch the bowl and let it cool off for a few hours. After that it should be safe to touch it and throw it out.

Whoa.
Are you bull****ing me?
EDIT: I already ate out of it, rinsed it out, and put it in the sink.

Not unless you turned the microwave on as well.

Well, the funny thing is that it was in there a full minute, and I didn't hear any weird noises like I usually do when I put something metal in the microwave.
Wow... That sounded alot less idiotic in my head.

What I always want to figure out is what would happen if you turned a microwave inside out, put it in another microwave, and turned both microwaves on at the same time.

How could you turn them both at the same time when one is inside the other?
But otherwise...

It is possible to convert a CRT television or monitor into a microwave with simple adjustments, but homeland security will label you a terrorist. What they don't know is the same can be done with 6 lcd monitors. Heck, when I was ten, I exploded a potato with 12 calculators.

It really isn't that big of a deal. As you clearly found out, because of no extra noise or lighning effects. Sometimes, it can ruin your microwave, and there is a small chance that it could cause a chain reaction and destroy the entire universe.
