I've lost my driver's license 3 times in the past year and a half. Just got it mailed to me from the bank.
I now reason the amount of people who are posing as me to be somewhere between 3 and 329.
In order to enact my revenge, I now intend to steal someone else's identity.
SSN, PINs, etc. would be appreciated.

I lost my license for the first time in the JFK airport, had it mailed to me by a custodian.
Second time I apparently lost it in Wal-Mart, since that's where it was mailed from, even though I rarely shop there and had no reason to pull out my license for anything.
This time I got it mailed to me from my bank, which is understandable.
Each time I lost it I got a new copy made, which I should have destroyed, but instead I have a neat little stack of licenses on my desk.

How come SSNs are so important? I never understood that. And I really don't know what number over here is so zomg-important. Really, most of the time we get warned about security at ATMs and online-banking.

It's pretty much the ultimate proof of your identity. With a DOB (date of birth) and social security, people will be willing to give you pretty much anything else you ask for, including government issued photo-IDs, lines of credit, access to private medical and financial information, etc. Thus, it allows you to "take over" another person's life, theoretically.
